‘The Best in the World’ is all set to face Jey Uso for the title next month!
Seth Rollins’ reign as WWE World Heavyweight Champion came to an emotional end this week, not because he was defeated, but because an injury forced his hand. During the October 20 episode of WWE RAW, Adam Pearce announced that Rollins had been stripped of the championship due to a serious shoulder injury.
Following surgery, Pearce confirmed that The Visionary would be out of action for “quite a while,” leaving the title vacant.
Moments later, chaos ensued as The Vision (Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman) interrupted. Breakker briefly held possession of the championship before reluctantly handing it back to Pearce.
The General Manager then revealed that a new World Heavyweight Champion would be crowned at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in November, where CM Punk will face the winner of a 20-man Battle Royal.
Jey Uso won that Battle Royal to earn his shot, setting up a blockbuster clash between two fan favorites, CM Punk and Jey Uso.
Punk already had a short-lived title run earlier this year, losing the championship minutes after winning it at WWE SummerSlam 2025. Now, he has a chance to reclaim it. Here are four reasons why CM Punk deserves to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship once again.
4. Elevate young talent
CM Punk has long been recognized as a performer who brings out the best in others. Whether feuding with John Cena, MJF, or Drew McIntyre, Punk’s storytelling elevates his opponents.
A new World Heavyweight Championship reign would allow him to spotlight emerging names like Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and LA Knight, all of whom could benefit from sharing the ring with “The Best in the World.”
WWE is currently balancing established names with next-generation talent, and Punk’s experience as champion could bridge that gap perfectly. His matches could help solidify younger stars’ credibility while ensuring the title remains a central part of RAW’s storytelling.

3. Final run as a World Champion

When CM Punk finally won the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2025, fans were elated, only to see Seth Rollins cash in his Money in the Bank contract minutes later to end the reign. It was a shocking, emotional moment that felt unfinished.
Now, as Punk enters the twilight of his career, he deserves a proper World title run, not a brief taste of gold. A victory at WWE Clash in Paris would give him the redemption story fans have been waiting for. More importantly, it would allow him to leave WWE on his own terms, solidifying a legacy that has already defined multiple eras.
2. WrestleMania dream match with Cody Rhodes

If CM Punk wins the World Heavyweight Championship, it opens the door to one of the biggest possible matches in modern WWE history, CM Punk vs Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 42.
Both men currently hold major titles and have career-defining storylines. A Champion vs. Champion match at WWE’s grandest stage would not only be a dream bout for fans but also a marketing goldmine for the company.
Punk holding the championship until WrestleMania would lend immense prestige to the title and bring long-term storytelling back to WWE’s main event scene.
1. To elevate the championship

The World Heavyweight Championship is still relatively new compared to other titles, and it needs a definitive reign to cement its legacy. CM Punk, with his mainstream appeal, wrestling IQ and storytelling ability, is the perfect figure to do just that.
A strong, emotionally charged reign under Punk would make the title feel truly prestigious, a prize that defines the top of the mountain in WWE. Whether feuding with Jey Uso, Rollins upon return, or even Cody Rhodes, Punk’s ability to make every story personal would keep the championship relevant, respected, and must-see.
