Roxanne Perez confirms CM Punk actively trying to convince AJ Lee for her WWE return

AJ Lee’s potential WWE return has been a major talk in recent times

AJ Lee is one of the most popular and greatest women’s professional wrestlers of her time. She had a great run with WWE from 2007 to 2015. AJ is a three-time Divas Champion and was involved in several major storylines in the company. She retired from professional wrestling in 2015 subjecting her injuries and his husband CM Punk’s controversial departure.

Ever since Punk made his WWE return, her fans started wondering if they could see AJ Lee back in the ring again. At Money in the Bank, the expectations peaked, but it didn’t happen. However, Roxanne Perez, who is close to AJ Lee & CM Punk addressed the possibility of her return.

The NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez recently appeared for an interview with Pro Wrestling Illustrated, where Perez was asked about if she ever tried to talk with CM Punk about AJ Lee’s in-ring return. To which Roxanne replied saying that she asked Punk about convincing AJ Lee to return and told that Punk is already convincing AJ for her return. Perez hopes that AJ could return someday and have a match with her.

Roxanne Perez said,

“Definitely, yeah! I try to talk to CM Punk about convincing AJ Lee to return, but he tells me that he’s doing the same thing. He’s trying to get her to come back, he’s pulling her in, but I hope one day, she decides to come back and have a match with me.”

CM Punk during the Money in the Bank post-show event was asked about AJ Lee’s potential return. Punk said that he didn’t want to give people false hope and didn’t want to force her. He reveals that AJ is super busy with her startup production company. However he would love to see her back, as a fan, but everything is up to her.

“I don’t want to fall into the trap of saying ‘never say never’. I don’t wanna give people false hope. I also will not put words in her mouth and say, ‘I think this could happen’. It’s really all on her. She’s busy, I’m super proud of her, she’s doing her own thing, she’s got a – I don’t even know if I’m allowed to talk about this stuff – she’s got a production company started up, she’s writing TV, movies, all kinds of stuff. I will say as a fan of hers, I would love to see it.”
