SummerSlam triumph turns into a brutal beatdown.
Royce Keys teamed up with LA Knight and Solo Sikoa to take on The Bloodline (Jacob Fatu, Jimmy & Jey Uso) in a six-man tag team match on Night 1 of SummerSlam 2026. Keys, Knight and Solo emerged victorious in the showdown.
However, the loss irked ‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns, who scolded Fatu and the Usos on the fallout show of Monday Night Raw. Moments later, Keys approached Fatu and tried to bury the feud with his ‘brother,’ but Fatu made it clear that he’s not his brother and then challenged him to a Street Fight.
The two collided in the main event of the Red brand in Iowa, where Fatu not only delivered a brutal beatdown on Keys, but won the match after locking in the Tongan Death Grip. Post-match, Fatu refused to let go of the hold as officials swarmed in to diffuse the situation.
Jacob Fatu gets the nod from Roman Reigns; Royce Keys gets stretchered out of the ring

As officials attempted to separate Fatu, he charged back toward Keys and locked in the Tongan Death Grip once again, leaving Keys visibly bleeding from the mouth. Fatu chased away the officials and brought in a steel chair, putting it around Royce’s neck.
Fatu then delivered back-to-back hip attacks in the corner as World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns arrived. The OTC gave Fatu a nod of approval after the SummerSlam embarrassment for the Bloodline.
The show moments later went off air as AAA GM Rey Mysterio approached Reigns, stating that he needed to run something by him. However, after the show went off air, WWE shared a video of the aftermath where Keys can be seen coughing up blood and struggling to breathe.
Keys was then stretchered out of the ring by the medical staff, while continuously coughing up blood. General Manager Adam Pearce and officials helped carry Keys to the back.
The injury angle is expected to play a role in building the ongoing storyline, but it remains unclear whether Royce Keys will be written off television. The promotion has not provided any additional update on his condition, and further details will be shared once more information becomes available.
