The Second PLE of 2025 will emanate from Toronto

The Stamford-based promotion has arrived in Toronto to deliver the Elimination Chamber go-home show of Friday Night SmackDown from the Scotiabank Arena, which will be followed by the PLE on Saturday. The second PLE of 2025 will emanate on March 1 from the Rogers Center in Toronto.

Ahead of the PLE, multiple reports noted that John Cena was set to win the men’s Chamber match and would go on to challenge Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at the WrestleMania PLE. However, according to new reports, the promotion has seemingly changed their plans.

According to a new report from Dr. Chris Featherstone on Backstage Pass, ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ Drew McIntyre is planned to win the men’s Chamber match. If the reports are true, this will be McIntyre’s second Chamber win in a row as he won the 2024 men’s Chamber match.

Earlier reports suggested that the promotion was planning a feud between McIntyre and Damian Priest. However, it seems like after much backlash from fans, the promotion has changed their plans. This change of plans will also affect John Cena, who is participating in his final Chamber match.

The promotion’s sudden change in plans remains unclear, but it’s been reported that the entire game plan was altered following The Rock’s unexpected return on the 02/21 episode of WWE SmackDown.

During his appearance, The Rock offered the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, a unique opportunity: to become “his champion,” which would not only elevate Cody’s career but also create new opportunities for his family.

Apart from McIntyre and Cena, the participants in the men’s Elimination Chamber match include CM Punk, Damian Priest, Logan Paul and Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins.

A tag team match along with an unsanctioned match is also set for the Elimination Chamber PLE

WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton is set to team up with Canada’s own Trish Stratus to battle the team of Nia Jax and Candice LeRae at the Chamber PLE. An unsanctioned match between two former friends is also set for the show where Kevin Owens will battle Sami Zayn.

The match was set after Owens once again turned on Sami Zayn as he ambushed his former friend, landing the package piledriver. KO wanted Zayn to aid him during his Undisputed WWE title ladder match against Cody Rhodes at the Royal Rumble PLE.

Furthermore, the traditional women’s Elimination Chamber match will also take place at the PLE, Bayley, Alexa Bliss, Naomi, Bianca Belair, and Liv Morgan are the six participants for the match.
