LA Knight dethroned Shinsuke Nakamura to become a two-time US Champion

LA Knight reclaimed the WWE United States Championship from Shinsuke Nakamura on Friday Night SmackDown last week. The Defiant One lost the gold at Survivor Series: WarGames last year and has since been on a mission to retrieve it. Knight claimed Nakamura’s championship on Friday, after emerging as the top contender the previous week.

With Nakamura losing the championship, he is unlikely to challenge for it again, and he may be removed from the air for an extended period of time. This leaves an opening for a new contender to LA Knight’s crown.

This listicle will present four candidates who can dethrone LA Knight as WWE United States Champion at WrestleMania 41.

4. Carmelo Hayes

LA Knight has had some of the best title defenses when he fought Andrade & Carmelo Hayes. With Hayes being a new upcoming talent on the main roster. His charm & charisma could be what WWE needs for their next WWE US Champion.

Hayes is already too good on mic & brings the moves inside the squared circle. So, we can expect him to have one of the best WWE US title reigns. Currently, Carmelo Hayes is aligned with The Miz but who knows what can happen as WWE keeps building towards WrestleMania 41.

3. Andrade

At last year’s Crown Jewel tournament, Andrade was on the verge of winning the United States Championship. He had faced Knight and Carmelo Hayes in a Triple Threat bout, but he lost. Since then, the 35-year-old great has not been able to play for the US championship.

He can, however, do so now that Nakamura and Hayes are out of the picture. He may face Knight at WrestleMania 41 and defeat him to claim the US Championship.

2. Jacob Fatu

The blue brand’s standout feature is the Samoan Werewolf. He is a rising star who has even surpassed the Bloodline’s leader, Solo Sikoa. Fatu currently requires only a WWE championship to solidify his position in the business. Fatu has yet to be scheduled for a bout at WrestleMania 41, and he is not involved in any long-term storyline that will climax at Mania.

It was assumed that he would feud with Solo at ‘Mania, but that does not appear to be the case as of now. As a result, the company may book him against LA Knight at WrestleMania, and he would be an excellent pick to dethrone The Megastar.

1. Drew McIntyre

“The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre might also dethrone the LA Knight. McIntyre is a considerably larger star than any of the names named above. He is presently involved in a heated dispute with Damian Priest.

WWE may, however, spice things up by engaging them in the US championship race. After defeating Damian Priest on SmackDown in a number one contender’s match, McIntyre might dethrone LA Knight at WrestleMania 41.
