GM Adam Pearce will likely announce more matches for Clash in Paris this week!
The August 18 episode of WWE Raw is set to air live from the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The show features appearances from top stars, including ‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns and CM Punk.
Additionally, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, Rhea Ripley, and Penta are also being advertised for the show. WWE has also announced multiple matches and segments for the show. Storylines and feuds will continue to intensify ahead of Clash in Pari,s and GM Adam Pearce will likely announce more matches for the PLE.
Women’s World Champion Naomi is also set to make an appearance on Raw to ‘sound off’ on the state of the Women’s World Championship. The Champion will likely provide an update on her appearance. Ahead of this week’s show from Philadelphia, here are the top five storylines for the August 18 episode of WWE Raw.
5. Rusev – Sheamus

The feud between Rusev and ‘The Celtic Warrior’ Sheamus has been boiling outside the ring for last two weeks. Rusev battled Sami Zayn last week, and as promised, Sheamus didn’t attack Rusev during the match.
However, after the match, it was a similar sight with the Celtic Warrior attacking Rusev and the two brawling through the crowd stands. The two might continue to brawl this week, and GM Adam Pearce could announce a match between the two for Clash in Paris, likely with a stipulation.

4. Intercontinental title rematch?
After their initial match cancellation, Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio tried ducking AJ Styles but ended up defending the title at SummerSlam. Despite tough competition, Mysterio pinned Styles to win the match.
However, it seems like the two are not done as Styles attacked Mysterio during the main event of AAA Triplemania last Saturday, costing him the AAA Mega title match involving El Grande Americano, Dragon Lee, and defending Champion El Hijo Del Vikingo. The attack will likely further the feud on this week’s show.
3. Women’s World Champion

Women’s World Champion Naomi was set to defend the title against Iyo Sky last week. However, the match was cancelled as the Champion was not cleared for in-ring action. Since then, there has been no update on her situation.
Joe Tessitore on the August 15 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, announced that Naomi will make an appearance on Raw to ‘sound off on the state of the Women’s World Championship’. Sky is likely going to confront Naomi if this is a rouse by the Champion, and if she’s really hurt, the title picture is going to shake up ahead of the PLE.
2. Fatal four-way fiasco
‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk kicked off the show last week and was confronted by LA Knight for costing him the title match against Seth Rollins last week. Paul Heyman interrupted the segment alongside Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, leading to a tag team match between the four in the main event.
However, the main event clash ended in disqualification as Rollins attacked Punk and then started beating down both Knight and Punk. This led Jey Uso to dart in with a steel chair and aid the two stars. GM Adam Pearce then announced that Rollins will defend the WWE World Heavyweight title in a fatal four-way match against Jey, Knight, and Punk.
While the three men have teamed up momentarily to counter Rollins and Company, their infighting helped Rollins, which might be the case again.
1. Roman Reigns returns

Following the vicious beatdown on the August 4 episode of WWE Raw by Seth Rollins and Company, ‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns is set to appear on this week’s show. In his absence, Bronson Reed has continued mocking Reigns and also delivered a promo last week.
Reigns is also advertised for the go-home show of Raw next week and will likely participate in a match at the PLE against Bronson Reed.
