Tonight’s episode of SmackDown will feature Cody Rhodes’ return!
As WrestleMania 41 week inches closer, the Stamford-based promotion continues to announce matches for the grandest stage. The promotion is also set to deliver weekly episodes of both Raw and SmackDown ahead of the PLE.
Tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to emanate from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. The show will feature the return of the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, who is set to defend the title against John Cena at the PLE.
The show will also feature a Women’s Gauntlet match with the winner getting a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Here are the top five storylines that fans need to watch out for on the 04/11 episode of WWE SmackDown.
5. United States Championship scene
On last week’s show, Jacob Fatu defeated Braun Strowman in a brutal last-man-standing clash and confirmed his Mania spot, he is now set to battle LA Knight for the United States Championship. The two stars will likely cut a promo on tonight’s show to build up the match. It would also be interesting to see what the dynamic is between Fatu and Solo Sikoa.

4. Women’s Gauntlet match
As mentioned, a women’s Gauntlet match is announced for the show where six different tag teams will battle for the number one contender spot for the WWE Women’s Championship. The winner of the match will battle the current champs Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez at the WrestleMania 41 PLE.
3. The face-off
Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest are set to go face-to-face on this week’s show, GM Nick Aldis has already made the match between the two official for the WrestleMania 41 PLE. The two stars will meet inside the squared ring and animosity will likely take center stage as they build up hype for the clash.

2. WWE Women’s Championship
Last week, the segment between Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair went off the rails as both stars went off script and started exchanging personal jabs at each other, mentioning their personal lives. The segment has undoubtedly made fans more interested in the clash and both stars have refused to back down and things might turn ugly in Seattle.
1. WrestleMania 41 build-up
This one’s a no-brainer as the promotion will hype up the build-up toward the WrestleMania PLE, likely announcing more matches. There are already segments announced or planned between stars who are set to face the grandest stage and the show will also feature segments building intrigue among fans about what’s to come on April 19 and 20.
