Tonight’s show will set the tone for SNME.

Tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw will emanate live from the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The episode will serve as the go-home show for the December 13 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Cena will compete in his retirement match.

The promotion has announced multiple matches and segments for the upcoming show. The World Tag Team titles will once again be on the line, as AJ Styles and Dragon Lee look to defend their belts as fighting champions. In addition to this title match, there will be two singles matches on the card.

Furthermore, Stephanie Vaquer and Gunther are both set to make an appearance, adding even more excitement to the event.  Ahead of this week’s show in Kansas City, let us take a look at the top four storylines that will be in play on this week’s WWE Raw.

4. Women’s Tag Team Championship

Last week’s tag team match between the team of Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky and Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss in the main event ended in chaos due to a multi-person brawl. Liv Morgan, along with Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, stood tall with the tag titles. Another attack by Nia Jax and Lash Legend took out Flair and Bless, as well as the Tag Champions, The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane).

The depth of the Women’s Tag team division is pretty evident by these back-to-back segments, and things are likely not going to get easy for the Champions, who have multiple worthy and highly skilled challengers in front of them.

3. Liv Morgan eyes the World title

Liv Morgan made her return during the 2025 edition of Survivor Series. She also made an appearance on Raw, and in a backstage segment, Liv Morgan interrupted Stephanie Vaquer, who was being interviewed by Jackie Redmond. Morgan subtly reminded Vaquer of her return, hinting that she is coming for the World title.

Notably, Stephanie Vaquer is set for an appearance, likely discussing what’s next for her after the title defense against Nikki Bella at the final PLE of 2025. On the other hand, the planned NXT vs main roster talents for the upcoming SNME and Cody Rhodes vs Oba Femi being announced could mean WWE has plans for Vaquer to likely battle NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, if not feud with Liv tonight.

2. Saturday Night’s Main Event

After a year-long retirement tour, John Cena’s farewell tour will arrive at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 for his final match. The December 13 edition of SNME is set to emanate live from the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

WWE has already announced two matches for the event, including John Cena’s final match against Gunther. On tonight’s go-home episode of Raw, fans can expect additional matches to be confirmed. With the emerging theme of main roster talent facing off against NXT talent, the show has the potential to deliver several exciting new matchups.

1. John Cena vs Gunther

‘The Ring General’ Gunther defeated LA Knight in the finals of the tournament to decide Cena’s final opponent. Gunther is now set to be John Cena’s final opponent on December 13, as the G.O.A.T. prepares to hang up his wrestling boots forever.

The Ring General is set to make an appearance on the go-home show tonight and will likely cut a promo, hyping up the match. Notably, this will be his second high-profile match against a veteran’s final match. Gunther put Goldberg to sleep in his retirement match on the July 12 edition of SNME. It will be intriguing to see how the match between the two unravels and if the old guard manages to prevail for the final time.
