What’s in store for WWE NXT this week?

The 17-time champion Cena will make an appearance on the special edition of the developmental program following his return to Monday Night Raw on November 2. The 17-time world champion is expected to bring further attention to the inaugural John Cena Classic, which he introduced earlier this year.

Cena made three major announcements on Raw, including revealing the tournament’s championship and confirming Cody Rhodes as its first invitee. His NXT appearance could provide another opportunity to discuss the competition and its upcoming plans.

Cody Rhodes will be present on NXT to honour the winners of the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The tournament final will see Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno take on Hank Walker and Tank Ledger.

Both teams have fought through a competitive field to reach the final, making the contest an important opportunity to add a prestigious tournament victory to their records. Rhodes, whose father, Dusty Rhodes, inspired the competition, will present the trophy to the winning team.

CM Punk will challenge Grayson Waller for the NXT Championship in one of the biggest matches announced for the show. Punk issued the challenge after Waller retained his title against Tony D’Angelo at Halloween Havoc.

The match will mark Punk’s return to an NXT ring after more than 16 years. Waller, meanwhile, will look to prove that he can defeat one of WWE’s biggest names and retain his championship.

Kelani Jordan will defend the NXT Women’s Championship in an open challenge. After retaining her title against Wren Sinclair at Halloween Havoc, Jordan was informed that she would face a mystery opponent on the special episode. The identity of her challenger has not yet been revealed.

The 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will conclude with this final between two teams that have impressed throughout the tournament. Dar and Moreno will look to finish their run with the trophy, while Hank and Tank aim to add another major achievement to their tag team résumé.

Chad Gable will team up with Rey Fenix and Dragon Lee to take on The Vanity Project. Jackson Drake, Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes will represent the NXT faction, which holds the North American and NXT Tag Team Championships.
