This week’s show of SmackDown will feature the aftermatch of SummerSlam!

The August 8 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to air live from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The episode will serve as the fallout show from SummerSlam 2025, which concluded last weekend and featured multiple moments that will redefine storylines and create new ones.

The promotion will also likely kick off the build towards the upcoming Clash in Paris 2025. Multiple top names, including John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Tiffany Stratton, Jacob Fatu, and LA Knight, are being advertised for the show.

The newly crowned WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, is set to address the WWE Universe this week. Rhodes defeated John Cena in the rematch from WrestleMania 41 to win the title. The match took place on the main event of Night 2 of SummerSlam 2025.

The 17-time WWE World Champion, John Cena, not only lost the title at SummerSlam but also was attacked by Brock Lesnar, who made his earth-shattering return during the final moments of the show after the main event.

Cena is set for an appearance on the show and will likely address the attack. The former champion would likely kick off his feud with Lesnar; only this time, fans would get the ‘real’ John Cena.
