The qualifying matches kicked off in Birmingham post-SNME.
The 2026 edition of Money in the Bank is set for Saturday, October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. With the conclusion of the September 6 edition of Sunday Night’s Main Event, WWE has kicked off the qualifying matches to decide the participants for the two ladder matches at the PLE.
The event will center around the Money in the Bank ladder matches, where multiple competitors battle to retrieve a briefcase containing a contract that guarantees the respective winners a championship match of their choice at any time over the following year.
Initially scheduled for Sunday, September 6, the PLE will feature WWE stars from both Raw and SmackDown and will mark the first Money in the Bank event to be held in October, as well as the first to take place after SummerSlam.
The qualifying matches for the same kicked off on the September 7 edition of Monday Night Raw from the Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama, as the Red brand returned to live programming after two weeks of pre-taped action.

In the first qualifying match of the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, Rey Mysterio, Ethan Page, and Bron Breakker collided to secure the first spot. One-half of the World Tag Team Champions, Bron Breakker, managed to pin Rey Mysterio and secure his place in the match.
The second qualifying match saw Je’Von Evans, Austin Theory, and Big Cass compete in a three-way bout during the September 14 edition of Raw in Mexico City.
Evans outlasted Theory and Cass, taking down Cass with the OG Cutter to secure the pin and punch his ticket to New Orleans for the ladder match.
In the third qualifying match, Trick Williams defeated Randy Orton & Rey Fenix to advance into the ladder match and secure the third spot.
Solo Sikoa was part of the fourth Qualifying match on 9/21 Raw in San Antonio, along with Dominik Mysterio and Dragon Lee.
However, 946 (Royce Keys, Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) attacked Solo backstage and took him away in their vehicle. Penta was the replacement for Solo in the match, and he pinned Dominik Mysterio to qualify for the match.
After losing the Undisputed title, CM Punk bounced back in a triple threat match against Finn Balor and Gunther to secure the fifth spot in the ladder match.
