Netflix will be the new home of WWE RAW

WWE Monday Night RAW will premiere on the streaming behemoth Netflix in January 2025. The unprecedented contract, worth an estimated $5 billion, was inked earlier this year by the global streaming behemoth and TKO, WWE’s parent company.

As RAW debuts on Netflix, fans anticipate a slew of changes to the show, ranging from aggressive plots to greater violence in the fights, as there will be no constraints on the product as they are now.

According to sources, Netflix has expressly requested that three major superstars appear on RAW when it premieres on Netflix. This article will highlight five superstars who could become the face of RAW on Netflix.

5. Cody Rhodes

The American Nightmare is a member of the SmackDown brand and is the second talent Netflix has requested to appear on the show. Cody Rhodes may be invited to join the RAW roster, however, the exact roster has yet to be determined.

One probable reason the streaming behemoth wanted Cody to appear on RAW is that he is the company’s current spokesperson. Since defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, Rhodes has become the company’s most prominent babyface. He is the company’s face during Triple H’s reign and has a massive fan base.

4. Roman Reigns

When Netflix launched RAW, the Original Tribal Chief was the third name offered for a film. Roman Reigns, like Cody Rhodes, is a member of the SmackDown roster.

The Big Dog has been the face of the Stamford-based company for the past decade, and despite losing the belt this year to Cody Rhodes, Reigns remains a popular attraction. His popularity has reached an all-time high. His SummerSlam comeback video quickly became WWE’s most popular video on the internet.

Despite not being the Undisputed Universal Champion, his popularity exceeds that of Cody Rhodes. His ongoing Bloodline feud with Solo Sikoa is the company’s most popular story at the time. So Netflix inviting Reigns to appear on RAW next year makes sense.

3. Gunther

Gunther, the current World Heavyweight Champion, is another strong candidate to be the face of RAW on Netflix. The Ring General is an extremely competent wrestler in the ring, and veterans such as The Undertaker revere his abilities.

Gunther has been a top superstar in the business since his main roster debut in 2022, with a 666-day reign over the IC championship. He defeated Damian Priest and won the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2024. He is also set to defend his championship against Priest later this month at Survivor Series: WarGames.

2. CM Punk

The Straight Edge Superstar is one of the best stars Netflix has allegedly asked the Stamford-based promotion to showcase on RAW next year. CM Punk was one of WWE’s most popular faces during the PG era.

Despite being absent from WWE for over a decade (2014-2023), Punk remains one of the company’s most prominent figures. He makes a surprise return at Survivor Series: War Games 2023, shocking the wrestling business.

In 2014, Punk’s relationship with management, particularly former Chairman Vince McMahon, deteriorated dramatically. He promised to never return to the firm. However, things changed dramatically when Triple H took over WWE operations. Punk and Triple H reached an agreement in October 2023, and he returned shortly after.

Since then he has been giving banger matches. For once his trilogy fight with Drew McIntyre will always be remembered as one of the best storylines and matches WWE came up with. With Punk aligned with WWE RAW, it can be said he could be the next face of the Red brand.

1. Seth Rollins

Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins is another potential RAW face on Netflix. The former WWE Champion is one of the company’s most successful superstars of the past decade.

Since capturing his first WWE Championship at WrestleMania 31 in 2015, Rollins has gone on to win the championship again. He went on to win two WWE Universal Championships and the first World Heavyweight Championship.

Rollins is presently embroiled in a bitter feud with ‘Big’ Bronson Reed and might meet the former NXT North American Champion at Survivor Series: WarGames this month. Following Reed, Rollins is likely to start a storyline with CM Punk, with whom he has real-life chemistry. Seth Rollins is another star wrestler who might be the face of Monday Night Raw on Netflix.
