The 01/10 episode of SmackDown features a title match
The 01/10 episode of Friday Night SmackDown will be aired live from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. This is the second episode to air for three hours following the transition last week.
Following the immense success of the debut episode of Monday Night Raw, the Stamford-based promotion will continue with its regular programming and continue building storylines and matches for the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event and Royal Rumble 2025 PLE.
Ahead of the show, let’s explore five potential surprises that could be in store for fans in Portland, Oregon.
5. Nia Jax attacks Tiffany Stratton
Tiffany Stratton cashed in the MITB contract last week on Nia Jax after aiding her in her title defense against Naomi. After months of tease and visible tensions, Stratton successfully cashed in becoming the new WWE Women’s Champion for the first time in her career.
Although it was imminent, Jax would still feel betrayed by her friend and would likely attack the new champion on the 01/10 episode. Candice LeRae who already has disdain for Tiffany will likely nudge Jax into ambushing Tiffany and bury all hopes for peace.

4. LA Knight regains the US title
The current United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura is set to defend the title against LA Knight on tonight’s episode. This will be a rematch from their first meeting at Survivor Series 2024 PLE where Nakamura defeated Knight.
Knight is hungry to reclaim the title and gain the momentum he lost following the loss at Survivor Series. Knight will likely win the clash and reclaim the US title as he seems to have figured out the Nakamura puzzle.
In last week’s episode, the former US Champion attacked Nakamura sending a clear message that he is not done until he reclaims the title.

3. Cody Rhodes calls out Kevin Owens
During the tribal combat match in the debut episode of Monday Night Raw, Kevin Owens appeared and attacked Roman Reigns. Owens landed a stunner and called on Sikoa to pin the OTC. However, Reigns kicked out which irked Owens as he continued the attack.
The attack was thwarted when Cody Rhodes appeared and took out Owens with a Cody cutter. The two stars continued their brawl outside the ring. On this week’s episode, Rhodes might call out Owens for helping Solo Sikoa in the tribal combat match.
The two stars are scheduled to clash in a ladder match at the upcoming Royal Rumble PLE, where the Undisputed title is on the line.
2. Roman Reigns appears
‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns restored order and reclaimed the Ula Fala after defeating Solo Sikoa in the tribal combat match. The two stars locked horns in the first match of the debut episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix.
Reigns will likely make an appearance, celebrating his recent win alongside the OG Bloodline members, and possibly outlining his goals for the remainder of the year. The OTC might also summon Solo Sikoa to the ring, forcing him to acknowledge the ‘real’ tribal chief in front of the Oregon audience.
1. Drew McIntyre confronts Roman Reigns
Drew McIntyre suffered a shocking defeat against Jey Uso on the Netflix debut episode of WWE Raw, Jey rolled up McIntyre and successfully pinned the Scottish Warrior. This defeat has halted McIntyre’s quest to take out every member of the OG Bloodline.
The Scottish Warrior’s shocking defeat will fuel his anger and determination, likely prompting him to call out Roman Reigns directly, seeking to finally achieve his goal of taking down the Head of the Table. If Reigns appears on tonight’s show McIntyre will most likely confront him setting up a feud between the two.
