Tonight’s episode of SmackDown will emanate from North Carolina!
This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown will take place in the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. The show will feature developments from Backlash 2025, which saw John Cena defeat Randy Orton to retain the Undisputed title in the main event.
The fallout show of SmackDown will kick off the qualifying matches for Money in the Bank, which is set for June 7, 2025, at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. The promotion will likely announce matches for the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Tonight’s episode of the Blue brand carries huge anticipation as Cody Rhodes is featured on the show, and many are speculating if he is going to make his return. Ahead of tonight’s show, let us take a look at three potential surprises that might be in store for WWE fans.
3. The Miz ambushes Aleister Black
Since his return last month, Aleister Black has targeted and pinned both The Miz and Carmelo Hayes, while Miz has been unable to mount a counteroffensive. The Miz will likely hit back, ambushing Black to send a message. Black not only defeated Hayes last week but took out Miz with a vicious black mass, humiliating the A-Lister further.

2. Jacob Fatu confronts Jeff Cobb
Following his shocking debut at Backlash 2025, Jeff attacked LA Knight and aligned with Solo Sikoa. Cobb helped Fatu retain the US title in the fatal four-way match. However, Fatu looked confused and irked by the unwanted help. Fatu was seemingly not happy by Sikoa’s decision and given their recent tension, this might escalate things, leading for Fatu to confront Cobb and warn him to stay out of his lane.
1. Nick Aldis suspends Randy Orton
In the main event of Backlash 2025, Randy Orton surprised General Manager Nick Aldis and security with an RKO party, as he was irked by the referee once again being hurt and unable to make the count, costing Orton the Undisputed title against John Cena. Orton RKOing Aldis once again might lead to severe consequences, and the Viper might face a hefty fine along with a potential suspension.
