The Red Brand reverted to a two-hour format on October 7
The Stamford-based promotion is preparing for the transition of Monday Night RAW on Netflix from January 6. The debut episode of the Red brand is set for the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
In addition to regular programming, Netflix will become the exclusive home for all WWE shows, PLEs, and specials outside the U.S. The WWE Network will shut down on January 1st, with all its exclusive content moving to Netflix.
Ahead of the transition, a recent report from Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer stated that a reliable source confirmed WWE RAW will return to a weekly three-hour format, starting with its premiere on Netflix on January 6, 2025.
As the Red brand transitions to a three-hour format, let’s take a look at three things that could happen afterward.

3. Improved storytelling & feuds
Similar to earlier episodes of the Red brand when the episode was three hours long, the additional hour can be utilized by the promotion to delve deeper into storylines and character arcs which would lead to a more engaging and more intriguing experience for the fans.
The promotion can spare more time for major segments and feuds which would enrich the overall experience of watching the show. Ads also eat up the time of the show and the addition of an hour would make sure that the pacing of the show and the interruption of ads are minimal.

2. Opportunity for rising stars & new talents
Many fans have complained recently about new talents and some of the rising stars not getting ample amounts of time on the broadcast to grow. This would change once the Red brand moves back to the three-hour format.
However, it wouldn’t just benefit the rising stars, newcomers would also have the chance to display their talents, gain visibility, and build momentum, possibly strengthening and diversifying the roster. This would also lead to an increase in the total number of matches per show for the Red Brand.
1. Extended matches and enhanced fan interaction
Currently, many fans also complain of too many ads between matches that spoil the overall experience of fans watching the broadcast. The promotion can use this extra time to smoothen the experience of matches especially matches with title implication and main events.
The Stamford-based promotion can also give more time to main events leading to a more engaging atmosphere for the live audience and viewers at home. WWE COO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque has been lauded by the fandom for the excellent work that he has been doing in recent times with all the shows, PLEs & storylines.
The extended time could also be used to explore multiple facets of a single storyline, ensuring greater fan engagement and allowing for a more balanced and fluid show.
