R-Truth kicked off his second WWE run in 2008!

After a successful run in TNA Wrestling, R-Truth kicked off his second WWE run in 2008 and slowly became one of the most entertaining superstars on the roster. Truth recently announced his departure from the promotion as his contract was not being renewed.

While fans are disappointed with WWE’s decision to release the veteran, today we’re looking back at his top five moments, remembering him as the legend he is. R-Truth brought joy with his presence and created some of the most iconic and hilarious moments in WWE history that fans still laugh about today.

5. DIY or D-Generation X?

Truth shines in chaotic sequences where misunderstanding prevails, such as the segment between him and DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tomasso Ciampa), when Truth misunderstood them for D-Generation X (Shawn Michaels and Triple H).

Truth, while thanking DIY for saving him from the Judgment Day, mistook Gargano as Shawn Michaels and Ciampa as Triple H, and even dropped the three iconic DX two-word phrase, “Thank You!” However, Truth took it further, calling out Tomasso Ciampa during a segment, only the guy he thought was Ciampa was actually WWE CCO Triple H.

4. Judgment Day member

Some of the most iconic moments from Truth’s recent career came last year when he insisted that he was part of the Judgment Day stable. He even made the stable members who were heels break out in laughter and look out of character.

One of the best moments from this storyline came during a promo package where Truth professed his love for the faction, admitting that joining it was a dream he had since “he left the womb”.

3. His Childhood hero

Truth’s most recent storyline, even before his departur,e was John Cena being his “childhood hero”, Truth created some memorable moments cheering for Cena like a kid and even walking out of his theme and old ring gear during his match against Cena at the May 24 episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The match and storyline against Cena was Truth’s final program as he only appeared on the May 30 episode of SmackDown, battling JC Mateo in a singles match before a backstage segment involving Mateo, Solo Siko, and Jacob Fatu.

2. Women’s Royal Rumble match?

24thDuring the 2024 women’s Royal Rumble match, while Valhalla was making her entrance at number 24 position, R-Truth’s music hit and he suddenly came out, darting towards the ring. However, once in the ring, she ran into Nia Jax. Confused Truth asked the officials where the guys were.

Jax was having none of it as she threw Truth over the top rope as Raw General Manager Adam Pearce handled the situation, clarifying that it was the women’s Royal Rumble as Truth clarified his doubts with the GM.

1. 54 time – WWE 24/7 Champion

One of the most memorable moments from R-Truth’s career has to be his 54-total reign as the 24/7 Champion. The chaotic reigns created some of the best moments loved by fans. From sneaking on gold courses to gatecrashing Drake Maverick’s wedding, Truth turned these title changes into comedic gold.

Truth didn’t just create iconic moments but turned multiple ordinary segments into comedic gold, becoming a cultural icon who featured in some truly bizarre yet memorable moments. Truth’s exit marks the end of an era, and while he didn’t held many titles in the WWE, he still carved a legacy for himslef that will never be forgotten by fans.
