Karrion Kross & Scarlett in final month of their WWE contract: Report

Karrion Kross recently competed in his first PLE match since April 2024.
After much fan backlash, WWE finally gave Karrion Kross the platform as he competed in his first PLE since WrestleMania 40 and his first singles PLE since Crown Jewel 2022. Kross battled Sami Zayn in a singles match at Night of Champions 2025.
The 11th edition of Night of Champions emanated on June 28 from the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The show also featured the finals of the King and Queen of the Ring tournament. Kross’ appearance on the PLE pleased many fans, but it seems the moment may be short-lived.
Karrion Kross & Scarlett’s WWE contract is set to expire in August
Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux could be nearing the end of their current WWE deals, but recent signs suggest the duo may not be going anywhere anytime soon.According to a report from Fightful Select, both Kross and Scarlett signed three-year WWE contracts in August 2022. That means those deals are set to expire by August 2025, just weeks away. As of now, there has been no official word on a contract extension or re-signing.
Despite that, internal sources within WWE remain confident that both talents will continue with the company beyond their current deals.
The belief stems from their recent on-screen involvement, with Kross appearing in high-profile programs and even getting his first Premium Live Event match since WrestleMania 40 at Night of Champions.
Signs point to WWE retaining Karrion Kross & Scarlett
Even without formal confirmation, Kross and Scarlett have been featured more consistently on TV in recent weeks. Kross has been prominently involved in a feud with Sami Zayn following his surprise role in the AJ Styles–Logan Paul WrestleMania storyline.
Additionally, new merchandise for Kross has been rolled out, a possible sign WWE is investing in his long-term future.
This resurgence comes after a challenging stretch for the pair. While their 2022 return to WWE started strong, immediately inserting Kross into a program with Drew McIntyre, they were soon left in creative limbo, and Kross ended up as part of the underwhelming Final Testament faction.
A journey marked by highs and setbacks
Before joining WWE, Kross built his reputation across the indie scene, notably in TNA, Lucha Underground, and AAA. He made a major splash in NXT in 2020, capturing the NXT Championship just months into his debut. Unfortunately, a shoulder injury cut that reign short, though he reclaimed the title in 2021 by defeating Finn Bálor.
His main roster call-up later that year was poorly received. Kross lost to Jeff Hardy in under two minutes while still holding the NXT title, and his unusual new attire drew criticism from fans and critics alike. Both he and Scarlett were released in November 2021.
Karrion Kross has support from WWE fans
Since returning in 2022, Kross has worked hard to regain momentum, largely by maximizing his limited screen time. Through creative promos and a commanding presence, he’s sparked organic crowd reactions that WWE seems to be taking note of.
With his current contract soon to expire, the buzz around Kross and Scarlett is at an all-time high. Whether re-signing is announced soon or not, it’s clear both performers have carved out a space fans want to see grow.
