The Final Boss aligned with John Cena and battered Cody Rhodes
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made his return on the 02/21 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, where he extended a unique offer to the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Johnson gave Cody Rhodes time to consider his proposal, with the deadline for a decision set for the Elimination Chamber 2025 PLE on March 1. However, Rhodes rejected the Final Boss’ offer in front of a packed Rogers Centre and told him, “Hey Rock, go f*** yourself!”
The segment took place right after the men’s Elimination Chamber match where John Cena emerged victorious. Cena, along with hip-hop stars Travis Scott, were also present during the segment and while Cena initially seemed to agree with Rhodes, everything changed when Johnson signaled a cut throat gesture and Cena’s expression changed.
What happened next is firmly engraved in WWE fans’ mind as the 16-time WWE World Champion for the first time in his career turned heel and attacked Rhodes, battering him, Johnson and Scott also joined in as the Champion was left bruised and bloodied.
The Rock to Appear at Monday Night Raw during the Europe tour
Both Johnson and Cena left after the Chamber PLE to attend to their other ventures outside pro wrestling, and Cena will be absent from the coming two weeks of Raw and SmackDown and is scheduled to appear on the 17th March episode of Raw in Brussels, Belgium.
Meanwhile, a report from WrestleVotes suggests that The Rock is likely to appear on Monday Night Raw alongside the 16-time WWE World Champion for one of the Europe Monday Night Raw shows leading up to the grandest stage.
PW Insider further reports they’ve heard that Johnson will be aligned with John Cena at WrestleMania 41 but won’t be working a match at the show.
The Stamford-based promotion will tour Europe as part of the road to WrestleMania 41 tour, which will make its way across Europe in March, featuring live events along with Raw and SmackDown shows in 10 countries, including Spain, Germany, Italy, and the UK.
