Updated brackets for 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic after WWE NXT (September 22, 2026)

The tournament kicked off on 9/22 WWE NXT.
Last week, NXT General Manager Robert Stone announced the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. WWE later revealed the list of teams that will partake in the ninth edition of the tournament, which kicked off on the September 22 edition of NXT at WWE Performance Center in Orlando.
A total of 14 tag teams will compete in this single-elimination bracket, drawing talent from WWE‘s Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and Evolve brands, along with stars from Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA).
The first-round matches began on this Tuesday’s show, where the team of Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar defeated Los Americanos (Rayo & Barvo Americano).
Meanwhile, The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed) triumphed over Harley Riggins and Jax Presley to move into the next round of the tournament. The tournament will continue on next week’s NXT with more first-round matches.

- Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar def. Los Americanos (Rayo & Bravo Americano) [9/22 NXT]
- The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed) def. Harley Riggins and Jax Presley [9/22 NXT]
- Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) vs DarkState (Cutler James & Osiris Griffin) [9/29 NXT]
- Birth Right (Channing Lorenzo & Uriah Connors) vs Mini Vikingo & Chaz Starboy Hall [9/29 NXT]
Two tag teams have received a first-round bye in the tournament. This group features the reigning NXT Tag Team Champions, The Vanity Project, and the AAA World Tag Team Champions, The Wagner Brothers (El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno).
First established in 2015 as a tribute to Dusty Rhodes, the tournament returns in 2026 after a one-year gap since 2024, when Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin emerged victorious.
On the other hand, The Creed Brothers (Brutus Creed and Julius Creed) won the seventh edition of the tournament in 2022.
Who won the last Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic?
The 2024 men’s tournament was won by the dominant duo of Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker (known as The Wolf Dogs). They defeated Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams in the finals.
