The first round of the tournament concluded in Buffalo.
The first round of the tournament to determine the challenger for World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns for the September 14 edition of WWE Raw in Mexico City concluded on the August 17 edition of Raw in Buffalo, New York.
The final two first-round matches took place on the show: Rey Fenix defeated El Fiscal, while Dragon Lee defeated El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. to advance into the semi-finals.
Fenix and Lee will join Penta and La Parka, who secured their spot last week on Monday Night and Saturday’s AAA show, respectively.

The semi-finals of the tournament will take place on the next week’s August 24 show of Monday Night Raw, which will air live from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.
Penta will battle AAA’s La Parka in the first match, while Rey Fenix and Dragon Lee will collide in the second, with the winner advancing into the finals.
WWE returns to Mexico for the first time in 15 years
The September 14 edition of WWE Raw is set to air live from the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico, and will feature the marquee match for the World Heavyweight title.
For the first time in 15 years, WWE will return to Mexico with its weekly shows. SmackDown will emanate live from Arena CDMX in Mexico City on September 11, 2026, with Monday Night Raw following at the same venue on September 14.
The shows will take place during TripleMania 34 weekend, with the event scheduled for Arena CDMX on September 13, while Night 1 will be held at the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on September 11.
