Linda McMahon was appointed as U.S. Secretary of Education
A recent report from the Washington Post has caused waves in both the sports entertainment and political arenas. The report suggests Linda McMahon, the former CEO of WWE, and her husband, WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon are no longer together.
President-Elect Donald Trump has recently appointed the former CEO and Co-founder Linda McMahon as U.S. Secretary of Education. McMahon has been hand-picked by the 47th president of the United States.
Her appointment has coincided with The Washington Post article that provides further details on Linda’s career following her nomination by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as the new Secretary of Education.
The piece sheds light on McMahon’s wrestling background, her connection with the 47th president of the U.S.A., and the controversies surrounding both WWE and the McMahon family.

Linda McMahon calls the ring boy lawsuit baseless
Linda McMahon’s attorney, Laura Brevetti, has confirmed the couple’s separation, as reported by CNN on November 19. In an in-depth follow-up, The Washington Post highlighted Brevetti’s statement, noting that while the separation’s reasons are not disclosed, it comes amid a challenging time for Vince and WWE’s public image.
The newly appointed U.S. Secretary of Education via her attorney also called the ring boys’ lawsuit baseless. “This lawsuit based upon thirty-plus-year-old allegations is filled with scurrilous lies, exaggerations, and misrepresentations,”
The Ring Boys’ lawsuit was filed on October 23 on behalf of five anonymous plaintiffs and accuses former WWE ring announcer Mel Phillips and WWE Wrestler Terry Garvin of sexually abusing young “ring boys” as young as 12 years old who were hired to help assemble the ring before WWE matches in the 1970s and into the 1990s.
The civil lawsuit also claims that Vince and Linda were aware of the abuse but never took any action against it or tried to stop it. According to the lawsuit, all the plaintiffs were underage boys during their tenure at the promotion.
Vince has also denied the claims earlier via her attorney Jessica Rosenberg, who said in a statement to USA TODAY Sports that the allegations are “false claims”.
“The negligence claims against Mr. McMahon that were asserted today rely on these same absurd, defamatory, and utterly meritless statements by Mr. Mushnick. We will vigorously defend Mr. McMahon and are confident the court will find that these claims are untrue and unfounded,”
Linda and Vince were married in 1966 and share two children, Stephanie and Shane McMahon, both of whom have held major roles in the Stamford-based promotion. Their separation closes a remarkable chapter in a partnership that has shaped WWE’s rise to global entertainment prominence.
