Seth Rollins walked into WWE SummerSlam 2025 cloaked in mystery. On the outside, he was injured, sidelined, and absent from the main event spotlight. But in typical Architect fashion, he was actually designing a masterstroke.

After CM Punk shocked the WWE Universe by defeating Gunther to become World Heavyweight Champion in one of the most brutal matches of the year, Rollins revealed that his injury was a ruse.

Limping out on crutches alongside Paul Heyman, Seth Rollins stunned 50,000 fans at MetLife Stadium when he tossed aside the act, sprinted to the ring, and cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase.

One stomp to Punk later, and Rollins stood tall once again, this time as a six-time world champion. As confetti settled and boos rained down, it became clear: WWE just entered a dangerous new era with Rollins at the helm and Paul Heyman pulling strings.

CM Punk gets a rematch

CM Punk’s long road back to world title glory lasted only minutes before it was cut short. His hard-fought win over Gunther, a match filled with brutal chops, bloodshed, and resilience, ended in heartbreak thanks to Rollins’ ambush.
