The 16-time World Champion is partaking in the last Elimination Chamber of his career

Widely regarded as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time, John Cena announced last year at the Money in the Bank PLE that he would be hanging up his wrestling boots at the end of 2025.

The 16-time WWE World Champion kicked off his farewell tour at the Raw Netflix debut on January 6, where he revealed his intentions of breaking the tie with Ric Flair and becoming the 17-time World Champion in his final run.

With this goal in mind, Cena entered the final men’s Royal Rumble match of his WWE career on February 1. The 16-time champion entered the match at the number 23rd spot and survived till the end. However, his dream of winning the match was shattered as he was eliminated by Jey Uso who won the match after eliminating the last man in John Cena.

During the post-match press conference, Cena revealed that he would not give up on his dream of headlining the final WrestleMania of his career and becoming the 17th-time World Champion. He then announced his entry into the 2025 men’s Chamber match.

John Cena last won the Elimination Chamber match in 2010

In his long and illustrious career, Cena has taken part in a total of seven men’s Chamber matches out of which he has only managed to win two. While Cena’s first Chamber match appearance came in 2005, he failed to win the match.

The 16-time World Champion first registered a win in the men’s Chamber match in 2006, while his second win came in 2010 where he outlasted five other competitors, including Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase and Triple H, to claim the WWE Championship.

This was also the last time Cena registered a win in the men’s Elimination Chamber match. On March 1 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada John Cena will attempt to win the match for the third time and go on to challenge the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 in April.
