Roman Reigns is again going on a hiatus!

Roman Reigns’ long-awaited return to WWE RAW may have just turned into another extended trip to the hiatus list. The Tribal Chief was left decimated on the August 4 episode of RAW and he was robbed of his shoes once again.

Reigns returned to action only a few weeks ago, re-emerging after months on the shelf following the chaos of WrestleMania 41. But this comeback was met with immediate resistance, particularly from Seth Rollins and his ever-growing faction. On this week’s episode, the numbers game overwhelmed Reigns once more, and the fallout was devastating.

After the main event wrapped, Roman charged down to the ring and launched into a wild attack against Rollins. The Visionary initially struggled to hold him off. But soon enough, the cavalry arrived. Bron Breakker cut Reigns down with a Spear, and Rollins followed up with a crushing Curb Stomp.

That alone would have been enough to leave the former Undisputed WWE Champion out cold. But “Big” Bronson Reed wasn’t done yet.

As Roman Reigns lay defenseless, Reed scaled the ropes and delivered multiple Tsunami splashes to an already broken body.

The sight of Reigns being flattened repeatedly beneath a 330-pound man was disturbing and likely the last we’ll see of him for some time. But Reed wasn’t just looking to make a statement through violence.

Once the ring was cleared, he knelt beside Reigns and tugged at the Tribal Chief’s shoes. It wasn’t just a petty stunt, Reed pulled off what appeared to be a custom pair of Nike Air Jordan 1 Mid “Breds”, a modern variation of the iconic black and red colorway that helped launch the Jordan legacy.

The market price for a mint or customized pair of these kicks can exceed $1000 USD, making the theft both symbolic and literal.

Reed hoisted the shoes like a trophy before leaving the ring, rubbing salt into the wounds of Reigns’ humiliation. Earlier in the night, Reed had even worn the previous pair he stole from Reigns, slung casually around his neck as a sign of dominance.

This was not the first time Reed stripped Reigns of his Jordans, and it may not be the last. What started off as a disrespectful jab has now turned into a twisted tradition.

For Bronson Reed, taking Reigns’ shoes seems to be less about fashion and more about legacy, his way of claiming dominance over one of the biggest stars in WWE history.

With Reigns now presumably written off television again, Reed is left standing tall, literally with the Jordans to prove it.
