WWE ID offers independent wrestlers a direct route to a possible career in WWE

On October 29, WWE announced a new program called ‘WWE ID’. As per the company, it is a developmental program designed to provide independent wrestlers with a potential path to a possible career in the promotion.

As per the statement released by the WWE, WWE ID stands for ‘WWE Independent Development’. As stated above it is a developmental program designed to provide independent wrestlers a potential path to WWE.

The promotion has now signed three upcoming prospects to their development program. Let us take a look at the three new signees to the new developmental program.

3. Cappuccino James

‘Cold Brew’ Cappucino James hails from Coffeyville, Kansas, and has been competing in pro wrestling since 2022. Cold Brew has competed in the AEW, ROH, and WFC in his short career before joining the developmental program.

James competed on AEW Rampage in February this year in a tag match against The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson). Cappuccino Jones and Jonny Lyons were defeated by the team of The Young Bucks. Jones has been scouted to the program from This is Wrestling.

2. Bryce Donovan

Bryce Donovan has close to a decade of pro wrestling experience under his resume. Donovan joins WWE ID with a background in multiple promotions including CZQ, Ring of Honor, and WrestlePro.

Donovan competed in the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) from 2021 to 2022 and has worked with the likes of MJF, Jake Hager, Wheeler Yuta, and The Acclaimed. Donovan has been scouted to the program from Wrestling Open.

1. Zayda Steel

One of the most talked about WWE ID prospects is Zayda Steel who made her in-ring debut in 2022. The Washington native has been scouted from Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW).

Steel has most recently competed in the Dream Star Fighting Marigold, a Japanese promotion who have a partnership with the WWE. Steel has recently competed in the H2O Wrestling last week against Matt Tremont.

CM Punk reacts to the first three WWE ID signings

Multi-time champion CM Punk has welcomed the three young stars who were signed to the developmental program. Punk welcomed the three stars via his Instagram as he wrote, “Welcome to the program!” for Zayda.

For Bryce Donovan, the multi-time champion wrote, “Has been ID’d”, lastly for Cappuccino James Punk wrote, “Freshley brewed, freshly ID’d”
