Drew McIntyre is stuck in England!

Drew McIntyre is in danger of missing SummerSlam 2025 due to a bizarre travel hiccup. The Scottish Warrior revealed on social media that he was denied entry onto his flight to the U.S., citing identification issues that prevented him from returning stateside for the massive event.

McIntyre is scheduled to team with Logan Paul against Randy Orton and Jelly Roll in one of the show’s marquee tag matches. Now, WWE could be forced to explore alternative plans, and potential replacements are already being discussed.

“I can’t get back in America. They wouldn’t let me board my flight,” McIntyre said in a video posted online. “I am in England still. At my buddy’s wedding—what a wedding it was. Planning to go back and train for SummerSlam, but no, I got blocked.”

With Drew McIntyre‘s return in chaos, let’s look at the top three stars who could replace him and join Logan Paul in the tag team match at SummerSlam.

Carmelo Hayes

Carmelo Hayes is another strong candidate. The former NXT Champion isn’t featured on the SummerSlam card, but his stock has been rising.

Two weeks ago, he defeated World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest by disqualification on SmackDown, a sign of WWE’s faith in him. Pairing him with Logan Paul against veterans like Orton and Jelly Roll would give Hayes a major showcase opportunity.

Grayson Waller

With Austin Theory sidelined, Waller has stepped away from tag competition and recently aligned with The New Day.

But before he fully integrates with Kofi and Xavier, a surprise SummerSlam appearance as Paul’s partner would keep his momentum intact. For now, WWE is monitoring the situation. A decision on McIntyre’s status may come down to the wire.

The Miz

The most logical replacement could be The Miz. The A-Lister returned to SmackDown last week after a short absence, where he clashed with Jacob Fatu and was quickly beaten in a singles match.

While he didn’t walk away victorious, Miz remains one of the most credible and entertaining heels in the company.

He shares history with Logan Paul and can talk circles around nearly anyone. With no match currently lined up for him at SummerSlam, WWE might slide him in as Drew McIntyre’s replacement.

Why was Drew McIntyre not allowed to board his flight?

Drew McIntyre said he was blocked from flying to the U.S. due to ID issues, despite usually clearing security without a problem.

Who could replace Drew McIntyre if he can’t make it to SummerSlam?

The Miz, Carmelo Hayes, and Grayson Waller are seen as top potential replacements for McIntyre.

Is this part of the storyline or reality?

While McIntyre added some playful storytelling, blaming Jelly Roll, the travel issue appears to be legitimate.
