Bron Breakker needs a major push to become a main event star.
The 2026 Money in the Bank has six strong contenders for the ultimate prize. With experienced stars like Kevin Owens and CM Punk, there is an obvious temptation to give either star another shot at a title, handing them an emphatic win at the main event.
Both men have the experience, credibility, and established connection with WWE’s biggest storylines. But if WWE is thinking beyond October 10, there is a much more compelling choice.

Bron Breakker should win the 2026 Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match

Not because Punk or Owens are incapable of carrying the briefcase. Quite the opposite. It is because Breakker represents something WWE cannot manufacture overnight: the next generation of main-event star who is already ready for the responsibility.
Age is undoubtedly the biggest advantage for the member of the Vision faction. Breakker is only 28 years old, while the heavy favorite challengers, CM Punk and Kevin Owens, are 48 and 42.
At this age, both stars remain tremendous performers, but Money in the Bank is ultimately about creating a future world champion. If WWE hands the briefcase to Punk, it is adding another major accomplishment to an already legendary résumé. If Owens wins, it gives a proven veteran another opportunity.
If Breakker wins, however, WWE could potentially create the centerpiece of its main-event scene for the next decade. That distinction matters. Has The Unpredictable Badass shown signs of a megastar?

Bron Breakker’s impressive resume
Before reaching his 30th birthday, he has already won the NXT Championship twice, the Intercontinental Championship twice, and the NXT Tag Team Championship once. He also won the 2024 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic alongside Baron Corbin.
Those are a few remarkable accomplishments for someone who only made his WWE main-roster debut in February 2024. His NXT success is particularly important because he did not spend years simply waiting for his opportunity.
Breakker became one of the faces of NXT remarkably quickly and was trusted with championship-level programs against established names. Now he is doing the same thing on the main roster. And that is exactly why the Money in the Bank briefcase feels like a natural next step.
Punk has the history. Owens has the experience. Penta may have the momentum. But Bron Breakker has time. At 28, with two NXT titles, two Intercontinental Championship reigns, elite athletic credentials, and already significant main-roster experience, Breakker is not simply WWE‘s future anymore. He is ready to become its present.
And if WWE truly wants Money in the Bank 2026 to create its next major world champion, Bron Breakker should be the man climbing the ladder and grabbing the briefcase.
How did Bron Breakker qualify for the Money in the Bank 2026 main event ladder match?
Bron Breakker qualified for the 2026 Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match by defeating Rey Mysterio and Ethan Page in a triple threat qualifying match on the September 7, 2026, episode of WWE Raw.
When and where will Money in the Bank 2026 take place?
The 2026 Money in the Bank edition is set for October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
