John Cena has a big fan following worldwide and has one of the highest social media followers. Cena has a followers of approximately 20.8 Million on Instagram and 14.4 Million followers on Twitter. He also has 885.4K followers on Twitter, where everything is random. Here we take a look at why Cena follows so many random people on his social media.

Why does John Cena follow random people?

In a 2022 interview with ESPN’s Pardon My Take, John Cena was asked about why he has been following a number of random people on his Instagram and Twitter. To which Cena said that he loves to learn more about the world. He said that he follows a number of people without having any idea of them, however, he is glad that people allowed him to follow them. He also states that he is learning things from every person.

John Cena said,

“I use Twitter, I use Instagram. It’s tough to follow the timelines because of how many people I follow. But I am trying to learn more about the world. I just went into a rabbit hole following EDM dance culture and non-fungible tokens and also Twitch streamers, because I know nothing about any of these avenues of the world.

“Just like people may not know about WWE, like, ‘oh, isn’t that the fake stuff where this happens?’ But there’s fandom there and there’s passion there and performers and stories. A lot of times we’re explaining to people, ‘yo, check out how many people follow me. I am really glad to say that 364,000 people allow me to follow them, and I am learning a little bit about each and every person as I go.”

Why does John Cena post random stuff?

In 2023, Cena also addressed why he is posting random photos without captions on his social media during an interview with the Whiskey Ginger podcast. Cena said that he uses every social media platform differently and it is an eccentric way to give a message.

Cena said,

“I believe that people have to earn the right to hear your story. I am just not an advocate of turning the camera around in my own life. I have a wonderful circle of people I love that d*** know everything about me and they love me back and we’ve earned that respect. Each platform I use uniquely, differently. I use Twitter differently than Facebook, I use Instagram differently than TikTok, and all four sometimes send a certain message in unison.”
