LA Knight is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the World Title at MITB in New Orleans.
‘The Megastar’ LA Knight has been eyeing a return to the World Title picture for months now. Following the end of the September 14 episode of Monday Night RAW, The Megastar is back in the conversation with an attack on the reigning Champion.
As a result of the attack, Knight will have the opportunity to challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE’s next Premium Live Event, Money in the Bank 2026 on October 10 in New Orleans.

Over the last few months, LA Knight has been embroiled in a feud with Roman Reigns’ Bloodline. In recent weeks, he joined forces with their own family member, Solo Sikoa, and other allies to counter their threat and squared off with them in the ring on multiple occasions.
At the same time, the Megastar had kept one eye on Roman Reigns and his World Heavyweight Championship too, as he looks to capture his first World title in WWE.
LA Knight attacked Roman Reigns on RAW in Mexico City
On the September 14 episode of RAW in Mexico City, Roman Reigns defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Penta in the main event. It was a hard-hitting bout that left the audience and millions watching full of excitement. As the dust settled, Reigns survived the war and managed to retain his title.
Following the match, after the show went off the air, LA Knight came down to the ring to confront a worn-down Roman Reigns. Right after, The Megastar took down The OTC with a BFT and left him lying in the ring.
As noted, post-attack, Reigns, while walking back to the gorilla, berated Knight and granted him a World title shot at WWE Money in the Bank 2026.
Should LA Knight become the new World Champion by defeating Roman Reigns?
LA Knight has been one of the most popular WWE superstars over the last three years. Despite reported opposition from management for not seeing him as a top star, fans have clearly backed him for years and want to see him ascend to the next level.
At the same time, he has exceptional in-ring acumen, incredible promo skills, can generate some of the loudest reactions from the audience, and has all the tools to be a top WWE attraction.
The only missing piece is a monster push from WWE. Therefore, in our opinion, LA Knight should be booked strong over Roman Reigns and The Bloodline and should be given the biggest win of his WWE career at Money in the Bank, which would cement him as a key player of the Stamford-based promotion.
Has LA Knight competed against Roman Reigns in a title match in the past?
Yes, Knight and Reigns collided previously at the 2023 edition of WWE Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Title was on the line.
When and where will Money in the Bank 2026 take place?
The 2026 edition of Money in the Bank is set for October 10, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The show will feature the two MITB ladder matches along with other matches.
