Why is The Rock not been inducted into WWE Hall of Fame yet?

While there are multiple superstars that have captivated fans and created history but there are few stars that transcend the sport itself, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of such stars who since transitioning to Hollywood has become a megastar, a household name.

Johnson was one of the stars who carried the Stamford-based promotion during the Attitude Era. The Final Boss left the promotion in 2004 to make a career in Hollywood and became one of the highest-paid actors of all time.

Since making the transition, Johnson has made appearances and partaken in a few matchups and storylines. Even after not being a full-time performer his returns are highly anticipated and he often plays a significant role in major events.

Johnson recently made his return on the 02/21 episode of SmackDown, where he announced the official date and location of the 42nd edition of the WrestleMania PLE. The Final Boss then called out the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and made him an offer to become “his champion,” stating that it would boost Cody’s career and create opportunities for his family.

Johnson is now waiting for a reply from the Undisputed Champion and has given him time till the Elimination Chamber PLE. The Rock will make an appearance at the second PLE of 2025, the segment has created a lot of buzz with fans speculating about the next development.

The Rock has yet to hang up his wrestling boots

The Final Boss boasts one of the most iconic careers in WWE history, however, he has yet to receive a Hall of Fame induction to honor his achievements. The promotion of not inducting him into the Hall of Fame has confused many fans.

While other sports usually reserve Hall of Fame spots for athletes and stars who have retired for some time, there are many instances in the WWE of stars being inducted while not being retired such as Rey Mysterio and Edge among others.

Johnson has shown no sign of slowing down and has stated that he still has a lot in the gas tank. He has remained involved, especially with his storyline with ‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, fueling speculations of dream matches.

However, the main reason for him not being in the Hall of Fame is likely time. WWE likely doesn’t want to waste The Rock’s induction and instead aims to make it as monumental as possible ensuring it’s a truly significant affair.

Johnson also has a very busy schedule with films and multiple business ventures which makes it more challenging to find the right time. Whenever the promotion decides to induct the Final Boss into the Hall of Fame it undoubtedly would be a historic moment.
