Three reasons why Tiffany Stratton’s WWE title reign leaps over Jade Cargill’s current reign

Jade Cargill defeated Tiffany Stratton last month.
Tiffany Stratton had one of the best starts of the year in 2025, when she cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase to pin Nia Jax and capture the WWE Women’s title. Stratton then went on a dominant run, remaining undefeated.
However, her domination streak was shattered by Stephanie Vaquer at Crown Jewel, and her title reign came to a screeching halt at the November edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Jade Cargill pinned Stratton.
Since the title change, Stratton has been absent from WWE programming, while Cargill has been having lukewarm feuds and promos against mid-card talents.
This has severely hampered her momentum, with many fans feeling that WWE’s option to put the title on Jade was a bad call. Let us now take a look at three reasons why fans are right.
3. Lack of opponents

Although it’s a bit of a stretch to say that Stratton had an abundance of contenders during her title reign, she still had to battle Nia Jax countless times, as the SmackDown roster has been fairly thin for a long time.
However, during Cargill’s reign, the division is even worse, with stars like Naomi and Bianca Belair out of action and Nia Jax, Candice LeRae, and others being involved in different storylines, which has led for Cargill to feud with Michin, B-Fab, and occasionally an uncalled attack on fellow heel Chelsea Green, that failed to generate any interest among fans.

2. Poor mic skills

While Stratton initially had some problems, she worked on her mic skills and can hold her own against veterans of the game. The WWE fandom being on her side also worked in her favor a lot of the time.
On the other hand, Cargill’s promos have been very short and have failed to create the desired impact. Her heel turn initially garnered interest, but the hype quickly died down due to weak booking by WWE and underwhelming promos, which ultimately undermined her momentum.
1. Fan engagement & charisma
When Cargill pinned Stratton for the title, many fans were intrigued to see what Jade’s reign would bring. However, they were quickly disappointed by the poor squash matches and lackluster promos. While Tiffany had a compelling storyline going into her cash-in, the turn on her friend and mentor, Nia Jax. Jade’s recent heel turn has largely boiled down to her going on a rampage, attacking anyone who gets in her way.
Jade’s storyline with Bianca Belair had a lot of potential, but unfortunately, Belair has been out of action, leaving the storyline on the shelf. The feud between Jade and Naomi could have been much stronger as well. While Belair’s absence contributed to the lack of momentum in the feud and ultimately Jade’s push, WWE’s poor creative choices have and continue to play a significant role.
