Will Brock Lesnar retire at WWE SummerSlam 2026?

‘The Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar is set to face Oba Femi in a trilogy bout at the upcoming SummerSlam PLE, which is set for August 1 and 2 at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Notably, the city is Lesnar’s hometown.

Heading into the match, Lesnar and Femi are both 1-1, with Femi picking up the win in their first encounter at WrestleMania 42 and Lesnar winning the second encounter at Clash in Italy. However, the major talking point for the match is whether Lesnar will retire at the PLE.

The speculations began last year with multiple reports hinting at Brock’s retirement at the PLE. This changed once Lesnar left his boots and gloves inside the ring at WrestleMania 42, signalling his retirement before returning in mid-May.

The return led many WWE fans to believe that Lesnar would likely continue the feud with Femi and would likely retire at SummerSlam in his hometown.

Will Brock Lesnar retire in Minneapolis?

While WWE has not even hinted at this being Brock Lesnar‘s final match, Femi’s comments after the match announcement led many fans to believe that Brock might retire at the PLE.

During a backstage segment with GM Adam Pearce, who tried to talk some sense into Femi and not give up his SummerSlam title opportunity, which he earned after winning the 2026 King of the Ring tournament. However, Femi said that the title will remain there and he will take it when he wants it.

This comment raised eyebrows as fans thought it was a subtle hint at Lesnar’s retirement. Although it might just be that fans are reading too much into it.

While Lesnar retiring at SummerSlam in front of his hometown fans could be a possibility, he could just finish his feud with Femi and then continue to make sporadic appearances until WrestleMania 43, take a massive payback before retiring if he wants to.

In conclusion, there is no conclusive report or any solid rumor regarding Brock’s retirement at SummerSlam, but then again nobody was expecting Brock to ‘retire’ at WrestleMania 42 or return few weeks later.
