Gunther will defend the World title against Goldberg in Atlanta on July 12!

‘The Ring General’ Gunther recently avenged his humiliating title loss against Jey Uso at WWE WrestleMania 41, on the June 9 episode of Monday Night Raw. Following his win on the recent episode of Raw, he made an appearance to celebrate his title win.

However, his celebration on this week’s show was interrupted by a familiar face. The Hall of Famer Goldberg made his return on this week’s show, which emanated from the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Hall of Famer stepped into the ring and came face to face with the Champion, stating that tonight he was there to celebrate Gunther‘s title victory.

The WWE Hall of Famer first congratulated the Champion before reminding him of the segment in Atlanta, Georgia, with him and his family, and vowed to end it all in Atlanta. Goldberg stated that while the Champion started it, he will make sure to end it all in Atlanta.

The Ring General will now battle the Hall of Fame in his first title defense at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12, 2025, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Gage was present during the confrontation between Gunther & Goldberg at Bad Blood 2024

The two stars had a fiery segment at Bad Blood 2024 where the Ring General mocked Goldberg, calling him a ‘one-trick pony.’ The segment went sideways as the Champion questioned Goldberg’s ability as a father, which led to the Hall of Famer jumping the barricade but was ultimately stopped by security.

While Gage didn’t respond to Gunther‘s remarks, which suggested that Goldberg might be a better father than a wrestler, he could take issue with the comments and may choose to respond during their clash at SNME.

Gage has made an appearance during the SummerSlam 2021 clash between his father and Bobby Lashley, who defeated Goldberg by referee’s decision. Gage rushed inside the ring to help his father, who was receiving severe punishment from Lashley.

Unfortunately, things didn’t pan out as he thought, as he was put to sleep by Lashley as he locked in the Hurt Lock. This time around, not only is the veteran much older, but he is also coming off a long hiatus of almost three years; his last match was against Roman Reigns for the Universal title, where he suffered defeat.

Gage might decide to help his father and punish Gunther for his words; this would also help Goldberg to defeat the Ring General and capture the World Heavyweight title for the second time in his career.
