The Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena is set to defend the title in a rematch against Cody Rhodes at the upcoming SummerSlam. The rematch was set after Rhodes defeated Randy Orton in the finals of the King of the Ring Tournament.
On last week’s show, Cena and Rhodes faced off during the contract signing. While Rhodes immediately signed the contract, Cena refused, citing being overworked. However, Rhodes didn’t take no for an answer and flatlined Cena, forcing him to sign the contract.
After forcing Cena to sign the contract, Cody also announced that the title rematch from WrestleMania 41 will now be contested in a street fight.
Will John Cena appear on WWE SmackDown tonight?

No, John Cena is not advertised for tonight’s show, which is set to air live from the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. On the other hand, Cody is set to appear on the show, as per his July schedule.
The Undisputed Champion is currently being advertised for the SummerSlam go-home show of Friday Night SmackDown next week. The August 1 episode of the Blue brand will air live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
This will be Cena’s 23rd appearance as the dates on his farewell tour inch closer to his retirement. The two stars will likely engage in a segment next week, hyping up the rematch.

WWE Tag titles will be contested on SmackDown tonight
The build towards ‘The Biggest Party of the Summer’, SummerSlam 2025, will continue to intensify as WWE gears up to deliver the July 25 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
The promotion has announced multiple matches and segments for the show. Alexa Bliss will battle one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Roxanne Perez, while The Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis) will defend the WWE Tag titles against the team of Andrade and Rey Fenix.
The show will also feature appearances from Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Jelly Roll, Drew McIntyre, and Logan Paul.
