The Visionary captured the MITB briefcase last month!

‘The Visionary’ Seth Rollins, with the help of his henchmen, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, managed to capture the Money in the Bank briefcase at the namesake PLE on June 7 at the Intuit Dome in Iglewood, California.

The briefcase contains a contract that grants him a title match against a champion of his choosing and at a time and place of his choosing. However, many fans are now wondering if things have changed since Rollins’ recent injury.

What Happened?

Seth Rollins suffered a freak injury during his singles match against LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The Visionary tweaked his knee during a spot when he was going for a moonsault from the ropes, due to the injury, an audible call was made during the match.

According to PWInsider, the match result was adjusted after the injury. Rollins was originally supposed to win, but the decision was changed once officials confirmed he couldn’t continue. Knight hit the BFT moments later for a quick and improvised finish.

After the bout, Rollins was helped to the back, looking visibly shaken and frustrated. Fan-captured videos showed him yelling and limping away, further fueling fears that this may be another serious injury to his surgically repaired knee.

A history of knee troubles for Rollins

This isn’t unfamiliar territory for Seth Rollins. In 2015, he tore his ACL, MCL, and meniscus during a WWE live event in Dublin while holding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He was forced to vacate the title and was sidelined for seven months. In early 2017, he re-tore his MCL but managed to avoid extended time off.

Rollins tore the meniscus in his left knee in January 2024; however, he still appeared in WWE as World Heavyweight Champion and was crucial to the WrestleMania build of Cody Rhodes vs The Rock and Roman Reigns storyline. The Visionary missed two months following WrestleMania 40.

With Rollins now holding the Money in the Bank briefcase and positioned for another major title run, a long-term injury has likely derailed major plans heading into SummerSlam and beyond. Fans are also wondering if the hiatus means the Visionary vacating or being asked to vacate the MITB briefcase.

Paul Heyman shuts down the rumors on WWE Raw

In a backstage segment with Jackie Redmond, ‘The Oracle’ Paul Heyman, when asked about Rollins’ test results, stated that it was too soon and that he didn’t have anything. Heyman then reminded everyone that Rollins had until next June to cash in, confirming that there are no plans for Rollins to vacate.

“Seth Rollins has until next June to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase. Until he’s crashing into that deadline, Seth Rollins’ health is not a relevant subject.”

This segment also hints at a massive return for Rollins once he returns and a possible title run. Fans are wishing for a speedy recovery for the beloved and one of the most active superstars on the roster.

Did Seth Rollins actually suffer a real injury at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event?

Yes, according to multiple reports, Seth Rollins sustained a legitimate knee injury during his match against LA Knight on July 12. The injury occurred after a moonsault attempt, and the finish was changed on the fly as a result.

What is the severity of Seth Rollins’ injury?

The full extent of Rollins’ injury has not yet been confirmed by WWE, but early signs suggest it could be serious. Rollins has a history of knee issues, and he needed assistance to leave the ring following the incident.

Was Seth Rollins supposed to win the match against LA Knight?

Yes, PWInsider reported that Rollins was originally booked to win the match. However, due to the injury, the outcome was altered, and LA Knight picked up the victory after an audible was called mid-match.
