The Rock has made his return at WWE Raw Day 1 and has laid the foundation of teasing a feud with Roman Reigns, with “The Head of the Table” tease. He then confronted Roman Reigns on SmackDown, weeks after Royal Rumble replacing Cody Rhodes’ spot at WrestleMania.
Rock vs Roman was teased till WrestleMania XL Kick-off Press Event, but Cody Rhodes made his decision to face Roman and the match was made official. During the build, Cody spoke about the Anoa’i family, which made Rock turn heel and align with Roman Reigns & the Bloodline.
The rivalry resulted in Rock & Roman Reigns challenging Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 Night 1 main event, which decides the stipulation for Roman vs Cody’s Night 2 main event match. At WrestleMania NIght 1, Rock and Roman defeated Cody and Seth to make the Night 2 match come under The Bloodline Rules. With just hours before WrestleMania 40 Night 2, here we take a look at the potential rumor of Rock betraying Roman Reigns.
The Rock to betray Roman Reigns?
There has been a rumor circulating on the internet that The Rock will dethrone Roman Reigns at WrestleMania Night 2 during the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match, to help Cody Rhodes finish his story. For which we need to take a look back at some of the instances. It is clear that Rock and Cody initially had a plan to take everything from Roman Reigns, before the WrestleMania XL Kick-off show.
The Rock had teased ‘Head of The Table’ and there is a compulsion of Rock acknowledging Roman Reigns as his Tribal Chief. The Final Boss has always pointed to the ‘L’ sign, when the Ones were pointed to the sky. His promos have always been confusing, whether he points to Cody or Roman.
Rock has been mentioning Dusty Rhodes as one of his heroes and idols. He said that everything between him and Cody Rhodes are personal, which doesn’t necessarily mean that it is a feud, it could be the connection between Rock and Dusty.
At the Tag Team main event at WrestleMania 40 Night 1, Rock got accidentally speared by Roman Reigns, which doesn’t seem like Rock would take it lightly. All these give hope of Rock betraying Roman Reigns.
On the other hand, The Rock’s bond with Roman Reigns & The Bloodline seems to be so tight. They always had good chemistry and it played a major role in the tag team match victory. Rock had brutally assaulted Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins, which raises the question, why should he beat Cody and help him win at the same time?
All these things put us in a complex state. The only way for now is to wait until the WrestleMania 40 Night 2 main event. Until then “enjoy the ride The Rock is taking you on”.
