Will The Rock make his return at WWE SummerSlam 2024 after recent movie filming ends?

The Rock has been on hiatus as he was filming ‘The Smashing Machine’

The Rock had one of the greatest returns of his career, earlier this year on the road to WrestleMania 40. Upon his return, Rock teased a feud and a potential WrestleMania match with Roman Reigns. However, the plan was scrapped after Cody claimed his spot and took Rock’s WrestleMania match against Roman.

This made Rock and Roman work as a unit and went to feud against Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins. He adopted ‘The Final Boss’ gimmick and set the shows on fire, week after week, by making sold-out shows. The rivalry resulted in the Rock & Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins match at WrestleMania Night 1, where Rock pinned Cody to secure the win for The Bloodline. In the Night 2 main event, The Final Boss tried to help Roman, however, Cody managed to dethrone Roman to become the Undisputed WWE Champion.

The Final Boss then appeared on the Raw after WrestleMania and warned Cody Rhodes, saying that he could return anytime in the future for Cody. As The Great One is known for big moments and SummerSlam is around the corner, here we take a look at the possibilities of The Rock returning to the biggest party of the summer.

The Rock to return at SummerSlam 2024

The Bloodline storyline has taken a full circle, as the new Tribal Chief is all set to bring the Undisputed WWE Championship to the faction, by facing Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam PLE. The backstage rumors suggest that Roman Reigns could make his return during the match to feud against Solo Sikoa. However, the hints suggest that The Rock could also be making his return at the PLE.

The Hollywood NorthBuzz recently reported that The Rock’s ‘The Smashing Machine’ filming is officially wrapped up. Rock is playing the role of the former MMA Fighter Mark Kerr in the film and the shoots are done and the movie is expected to be released in 2025.

Based on People’s Champ’s previous promo with Cody Rhodes, saying that their story has just begun and the Bloodline keeping a check on Rhodes, makes us believe that Rock might be returning at SummerSlam. However, nothing is official about both Rock & Roman’s return at SummerSlam so far. Thereby, we need to wait and watch, if we could see The Rock making his return at the 2024 SummerSlam PLE.
