SummerSlam 2026 is WWE’s next Premium Live Event.
The road to WWE‘s next Premium Live Event, SummerSlam 2026, has been full of interesting twists and turns. The PLE is still some weeks away, yet the developments have been intriguing to witness.
For some, it has been favorable; for others, it has been nothing short of a disaster. So, here is our list of five winners and losers on the road to SummerSlam this year:
5. Jade Cargill
Jade Cargill has been on a downfall ever since she dropped her WWE Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42.
She failed to regain it, was unsuccessful in capturing the Women’s US title at Night of Champions, and has been mostly on a losing streak. Moreover, Rhea Ripley‘s unfortunate injury derailed her chances to secure another title match against her, rumored to be planned for SummerSlam this year.
4. Seth Rollins
‘The Visionary’ Seth Rollins has regained major momentum for the first time since returning to WWE in 2026. After his mid-card feuds with Gunther and The Vision for the last six months, Rollins is back in the main event with a reignited rivalry with Roman Reigns.
The duo is set to main event SummerSlam 2026 in a major title match, and it has definitely made Rollins a top contender on the road to SummerSlam.
3. Sami Zayn
Sami Zayn began the road to SummerSlam strong by coming out of Night of Champions as the new Undisputed WWE Champion.
However, nine nights later, his title reign came to an end at the hands of CM Punk. This was a major blow to his monumental victory in Riyadh and has left his status for SummerSlam uncertain now.
2. The Vision
The Vision has got a new life following the events of the July 6 episode of Monday Night RAW in Chicago against the Street Profits.
After losing their tag titles, multiple injury setbacks, and Bron Breakker failing to beat Seth Rollins at Night of Champions, one assist from Maxxine Dupri brought back the titles, and she and Austin Theory generated huge interest after confirming their romantic alliance. This has made The Vision a top force heading into SummerSlam 2026.
1. CM Punk
One of the top winners heading into WWE SummerSlam 2026 is undoubtedly CM Punk. The Second City Saint made his much-awaited return on the July 6 edition of RAW as Cody Rhodes‘ replacement for the title match against Sami Zayn.
With his hometown crowd of Chicago behind him, Punk dethroned Zayn and won the Undisputed WWE title for the first time in 15 years, garnering huge momentum on the road to SummerSlam.
When and where will SummerSlam 2026 take place?
The 39th edition will air as a two-night spectacle on Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, 2026, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
