This will be the first Premium Live Event in France

With WrestleMania 40 over, the next Premium Live Event lined up for WWE is Backlash. While the storylines have started looking interesting, it will be important to see who faces whom.

Backlash this year is scheduled to take place in France for the very first time and WWE are expected to make this the biggest Backlash event ever. Presented here are the predictions of what could happen at Backlash 2024 with the match card.

Rhea Ripley v/s Liv Morgan

With the tensions rising up between  Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan leading up to a backstage brawl, it is predicted that there will be a match between the two fellow tag team partners at WWE Backlash.

Rhea Ripley could be seen defending her Women’s Title against Liv, who will try her best to win but Mami could be the possible winner of the match as WWE is trying to show ‘The Judgement Day’ as one of the greatest factions ever and it won’t make sense if they take the title from Rhea Ripley, who is known as the powerhouse of the women’s division.

Logan Paul v/s LA Knight

What next for  LA Knight could be a match against Social Media Megastar Logan Paul. While both of them won their previous matches at WrestleMania and got their moments, it might be a chance for Knight to get a shot on another title as he lost against the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns when there was a match between the two for Undisputed Title.

Logan Paul though is expected to win this match and continue with his reign of the US Title. LA Knight would have to wait more for his first title win at WWE.

Damian Priest v/s Sheamus

Another expected match that can happen at Backlash could be for the World title that was won by Damian Priest recently at WrestleMania, where he cashed in his Money in the Bank Contract against Drew McIntyre. Sheamus, whose return was teased in the recent Monday Night Raw episode could be his first challenger. While he can possibly make his return match very interesting to watch, Damian Priest is expected to retain his title successfully at the Backlash.

Bayley vs Dakota Kai

At WrestleMania 40, Bayley won the Women’s Championship, and it’s being speculated that Dakota Kai, a key member of Damage Ctrl, will challenge her for the title. It’s crucial to remember that Bayley was beaten down by her faction and betrayed twice by Dakota Kai.

Seeing two former teammates battle it out will be entertaining. It’s anticipated that Bayley will secure the title reign at the event.

Sami Zayn v/s Chad Gable

Although everyone was expecting Gable to win the Intercontinental Championship, Sami Zayn unexpectedly emerged victorious. As a result, Chad Gable, who ended up becoming Sami Zayn’s teacher, is now seeking a chance to take on him, and Backlash would be the ideal venue for that.

It is anticipated that both of them will give it their all in the match, which is predicted to be highly unpredictable because nobody can predict what will happen but it is expected that Zayn will retain his title since he recently won that from Gunther who won against Gable.

Jimmy Uso v/s Solo Sikoa

On the Friday Night Smackdown episode of April 13, reinforcer Solo Sikoa disgraced his own brother Jimmy Uso by betraying him and forcing him out of the Bloodline. It is anticipated that Tama Tonga, who made his WWE debut, will replace Jimmy Uso and that one-half of the Usos will engage in another brother versus brother match at WWE Backlash.

The match could possibly see Jey Uso getting on Jimmy’s side again and his win against Solo but it might not happen if Jimmy is alone.

Cody Rhodes v/s AJ Styles

After  AJ Styles made a heel turn, pro wrestling fans became fixated on him because they wanted him to have another successful single run like he did in 2016. Though he lost to LA Knight in his WrestleMania match, he could be considered  Cody Rhodes‘ first real challenger.

For the enjoyment of the fans, AJ and Knight will face off on Smackdown next week, but Styles may win given his defeat at WrestleMania, so winning that match will also give AJ momentum. If Cody vs Styles match takes place, Cody should be able to defend his title at the Backlash.

While we do not know what can happen at Backlash, given the orders of Triple H, it is always good to predict something for the next Premium Live Event of the WWE. The following episodes of Raw and Smackdown will make it clear who will face whom at Backlash.
