CM Punk & Drew McIntyre faced each other inside the Hell in a Cell
At WWE Bad Blood 2024, the highly anticipated clash between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre finally reached its bloody and brutal conclusion inside the Hell in a Cell structure. The intense match opened the show at State Farm Arena, and fans were treated to a gritty, high-stakes battle that lived up to the fierce rivalry between these two competitors.
As the bell rang, the WWE crowd erupted in chants for CM Punk, with both men wasting no time getting into a brawl. McIntyre powered Punk into the corner, landing brutal chops and punches, but Punk retaliated with fierce strikes of his own.
The intensity escalated when McIntyre sent Punk crashing into the steel cage, but Punk quickly gained control, using the cell wall as a weapon, and slamming McIntyre into it multiple times. The action spilt to ringside, where Punk introduced a table and a steel chair, much to the crowd’s delight. However, McIntyre quickly turned the tables, using the chair to brutalize Punk, slamming it into his back and pressing his foot into Punk’s face against the steel steps.
The match took a savage turn when McIntyre retrieved a toolbox and attempted to use a wrench on Punk, but the veteran escaped and used the wrench to bust McIntyre open, leaving both men bloodied. Punk gained momentum, slamming McIntyre onto the broken table and choking him with the leg of the table. Yet, McIntyre remained resilient, catching Punk with a Claymore Kick out of nowhere, sending the crowd into a frenzy. The Scottish Warrior further brutalized Punk by lawn-darting him into the cage, causing Punk to bleed profusely from a massive cut on his head.
As the match approached its climax, McIntyre looked poised to finish Punk, but the veteran countered. Punk delivered a series of running knees and finally hit the Go To Sleep (GTS). Despite McIntyre’s best efforts to escape the punishment, Punk’s relentless assault culminated in the decisive GTS, leaving McIntyre incapacitated. Punk went for the cover, but McIntyre managed to roll out of the ring, delaying the inevitable.
With both men bloodied and battered, Punk ultimately sealed the victory in a match that lived up to its violent promise. The Hell in a Cell structure added a dangerous edge to the fight, and Punk delivered on his vow to bring back the brutality of the match.
CM Punk emerged victorious over Drew McIntyre in one of the most brutal Hell in a Cell matches in recent memory, ending their heated rivalry at WWE Bad Blood 2024.
