WWE arrived in the capital city to deliver the Clash in Paris PLE. The third installment of the Clash PLE took place on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre, Paris, France.

The third Clash event, shortened from the “Clash at the Castle” title used in 2022 and 2024, featured stars from both Raw and SmackDown. The show also featured John Cena‘s first and final appearance in the city of Paris.

This was also WWE’s second PLE in France, following Backlash 2024, and the first to be held in the Paris metropolitan area. The PLE featured three title clashes, along with a Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook match and two singles matches.

Get to know what happened this Monday, as we have the complete summary, highlights, results, grades, and winners’ list for WWE Clash in Paris.

WWE Clash in Paris Summary and Highlights

Roman Reigns vs Bronson Reed

(Courtesy: WWWE)

In the first match of the PLE, Roman Reigns battled Bronson Reed, who took control early and controlled the pace for majority part of the match. However, Reigns rallied back delivering the Samoan drop from the top rope followed by a spear to pin Reed. After the match, Reigns confronted Paul Heyman and asked for the ‘Shoe-La-Fala’.

Reigns choked out Heyman after taking the Shoe-La-Fala, then started singing and tossing shoes into the crowd. Just then Bron Breakker appeared and speared Reigns through the announce desk. What followed was a vicious and devastating beatdown of Reigns. Jey Uso came in to aid Reigns after witnessing enough but fell prey to the numbers game.

Reed went on to deliver three back-to-back Tsunamis despite secuirty’s presence. Reigns was gasping for air as he loaded onto a strecher. Heyman was also taken to the hospital due to the attack by Reigns.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Grade: B+

Top Moments & Insights:

  • The match helped Reed’s stock, which soared against one of the top stars.
  • The crowd was deafening throughout the match, especially when Reigns was in control.
  • The attack afterwards will likely be used to write Reigns off television, until possibly Survivor Series or Royal Rumble.
  • The attack by Breakker also means another test for Reigns on the road to his eventual clash with Rollins.
  • In a backstage segment, GM Adam Pearce kicked both Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed out of the ring. Reed opposed and reminded Pearce about Seth’s match, but Pearce threatened them with suspension without pay.

The Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis) (c) vs The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) – WWE Tag Team titles match

The match kicked off with visible tensions between Ford and Dawkins but they rallied back and managed to out muscle the Tag Champions with flashy moves. However, the presence of rest of the Wyatt Sicks proved fatal for Ford and Dawkins.

Nikki Cross grabbed Ford’s leg while Uncle Howdy delivered the sister abigail, aiding Gacy and Lumis who hit the Plague to pin Ford and retain the WWE Tag titles.

Winner: The Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis)

Grade: C+

Top Moments & Insights:

  • The tensions between Ford and Dawkins were the talking point in the match; it seems like Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy) did his job well.
  • Unlike the tag team matches that fans are used to on Friday Night SmackDown, this match felt bit underwhelming.

Becky Lynch (c) vs Nikki Bella – Women’s Intercontinental title match

Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch defended her title against WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella who was participating in her first ever singles match since Evolution 2018. This match was easily the worst match of the PLE, and featured multiple awful moves and botches. Both women struggled to develop some chemistry. Becky rolled up Nikki in the end to get the three pin and retain the title.

Winner: Becky Lynch

Grade: C-

Top Moments & Insights:

  • This was Nikki’s first singles match since Evolution 2018, that is seven years.
  • Bella’s ring rust was evident and the decision to put her directly into a PLE match bombed, she needs few more matches to get to her form.
  • The table shot with Nikki slamming Becky on the announce desk looked awful for the two veterans.
  • Both Becky and Nikki struggled to find some chemistry; the finish could have been better.
  • In a backstage segment, Jey Uso was icing his injuries as General Manager Adam Pearce appeared and asked if Jey can compete in the main event. Jey stated that the last thing Roman Reigns said to him is to get the title and vowed to win the World Heavyweight title.

Sheamus vs Rusev – Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook match

In the fourth match of the show, Sheamus and Rusev clashed in a Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook match. As advertised, both men battered each other, slamming each other through tables, wooden bar and attacking each other with kendo stick and shillelagh.

Both men refused to quit, kicking out of devastating blows and submissions. However, in the end Rusev managed to locked in the accolade using the shillelagh, beding the lock way back, forcing Sheamus to tap out and accept defeat.

Winner: Rusev

Grade: A

Top Moments & Insights:

  • This was the fifth Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook match in WWE (all of them have featured Sheamus), per Michael Cole.
  • Sheamus is the only star to pin Rusev since the latter’s return in April.
  • Per Michael Cole, this was the only second time Sheamus has tapped out in his WWE career.

John Cena vs Logan Paul

In the co-main event of the show, John Cena took on Logan Paul. Since his face turn it seems like Cena has vowed to have only good matches for the remainder of his retirement tour, despite his physical limitations at this age.

This was another good match, with Paul again showcasing his agility and felxibility inside the squared circle. However, in the end, rallied by the roaring French crowd Cena managed to deliver two back-to-back AA’s to pin Logan and get back into the win column after SummerSlam.

Winner: John Cena

Grade: B

Top Moments & Insights:

  • This was John Cena’s first and final appearance in Paris, France. There are now eight dates left on his retirement tour.
  • The French crowd was unbelievably loud, giving Cena the warm reception he truly deserved during his retirement tour.
  • Contrary to popular speculation, Brock Lesnar did not make an appearance after the match.
  • Cena celebrate the win with the Belgium kid, his wife, Post Malone and Jelly Roll.

Seth Rollins (c) vs Jey Uso vs LA Knight vs CM Punk – Fatal Four-way match for the World Heavyweight title

In the main event of the show, Seth Rollins defended the World Heavyweight title against Jey Uso, LA Knight and CM Punk in a fatal four-way match. Rollins was battling all alone as Paul Heyman was taken to the hospital following the attack by Reigns and Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker were banned from the arena.

Punk kicked off the match taking out Jey with a superkick, offering some payback as Rollins intially escaped and chose his moments to attack. Despite their differences, Knight, Jey and Punk teamed up to batter Rollins. However, the alliance fell quickly and Knight too returned the favor sending Punk crashing throught a table.

Knight took himself out during a splash through the announce desk where Rollins moved out of harms’ way, a stomp later sealed the deal for him and Jey met the same fate after almost winning the title following the Uso Splash.

Rollins went on to attack Punk after taking out Jey and Knight, putting his right into a steel chair to deliver a stomp. Punk countered to deliver a GTS and went for another one when a masked person who turned out to be Becky Lynch, took him out with a low blow. Rollins followed it up with a stomp on the steel chair to seal the deal and defend his title.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Grade: B+

Top Moments & Insights:

  • This was CM Punk’s 21st match with Seth Rollins as an opponent, it was his first match in Paris, France.
  • Rollins defended his title for the second time, since winning it at SummerSlam.
  • Rollins mentioning that he hates Punk’s family followed by Becky’s attack and WWE’s post has caused major speculations among fans for AJ Lee’s return.
