Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins faced off to determine who is the best of the best!

Seth Rollins has finally exorcised a three-year demon. After falling short in three straight encounters in 2022, “The Visionary” conquered Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel 2025 in Riyadh to capture the inaugural Men’s Crown Jewel Championship and he did it in dramatic, poetic, and ruthless fashion.

From the opening bell, Rollins wore the story of his obsession. His gear featured pieces from all his prior matches with Rhodes, a symbolic nod to the ghosts he sought to silence.

The early moments saw both men testing each other’s patience, Rhodes using mind games and Rollins losing his cool. A crisp delayed suplex and a Disaster Kick sent Rollins reeling outside, his frustration boiling over as he argued with the commentary team.

Rollins targets the arm, mocks the Rhodes legacy

Once Rollins regained control, the match turned brutal and psychological. He rammed Rhodes into the steps, stomped him on the barricade, and even knocked over the Prime Energy Hydration Station to a wild ovation. Back in the ring, Rollins began targeting the arm, ripping at Rhodes’ shoulder and dropping him with a neckbreaker before taunting him with Dusty Rhodes-inspired jabs.

But the “American Nightmare” refused to back down. Channeling his father’s fighting spirit, Cody fired back with his own sequence of Bionic Elbows, drawing cheers from the Saudi crowd. The momentum shifted with a thrilling exchange. Rhodes hit a Vertebreaker, a Cody Cutter, and even survived a Pedigree, but the championship still eluded him.

A desperate ending and long-awaited redemption

In the closing moments, both men were running on fumes. Rollins hit a stunning Spanish Fly and uranage, while Cody Rhodes answered with a Super CrossRhodes from the top rope that had everyone believing it was over. But fate and Rollins had one final twist left.

With the referee down, Rollins retrieved the gold watch he’s been carrying as a symbolic reminder of his unfinished business. He smashed it across Rhodes’ head, hit a Stomp, then climbed the ropes to deliver one final top-rope Stomp for good measure. Three seconds later, history was made.

Seth Rollins pinned Cody Rhodes to win the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship, his first victory over Rhodes since 2022 and one that might define his legacy.
