Amid uncertainty, the stage construction is underway.
Following growing concerns over regional security in the Middle East, multiple reports suggested that the company considered an alternative venue for Crown Jewel 2026. The escalating situation also raised questions about whether the promotion will proceed with its planned trip, particularly after reports of travel disruptions and attacks affecting Saudi infrastructure.
Adding to it, there were reports that the supporting staff was showing no interest in travelling to Saudi Arabia for the planned event. WWE was also unhappy after some non-wrestling employees expressed concerns about travelling to the venue.
Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
TKO executive chairman Ari Emanuel now provided an update on the company’s preparations, while promotional activities for the event have already appeared in Riyadh.
One fan video from the region highlights the ongoing work on the premises, with Liv Morgan’s photo and closed stands hinting at the possibility of the scheduled PLE taking place in Riyadh only.
Ari Emanuel provides a major update on Crown Jewel 2026
Furthermore, TKO CEO Ari Emanuel spoke about the situation in an interview with Fox Sports when he was asked about the status of the company’s events in the region. The TKO executive indicated that preparations were continuing while the situation was being monitored.
“Right now, everything’s still set for this weekend coming up in Abu Dhabi. We have a UFC fight. We have in the middle of November, a freeze art show, so, so far so good, nothing’s been canceled,”
Although his response referenced other events rather than directly confirming every detail of Crown Jewel, Emanuel also explained that the company was monitoring developments and had considered alternatives if circumstances changed.
“Yeah, we have a whole team kind of working on this and kind of when and if it doesn’t happen where we can move it, it’s a daily monitoring.”
His comments suggest that TKO is keeping contingency options under consideration rather than announcing a definitive change to the event’s plans.
Crown Jewel promotions begin in Riyadh as matches take shape
Despite the uncertainty, preparations for the November 7 show have continued. Promotional material featuring Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and Crown Jewel branding has reportedly been spotted in Riyadh, indicating that local marketing activities are underway.
Two matches have been announced for the event so far. Roman Reigns is set to face Sami Zayn in a champion-versus-champion contest, while Liv Morgan will take on Chelsea Green. Both matches will determine the respective Crown Jewel Champions rather than put the competitors’ regular championships on the line.
While there are massive finicial benefits for the firm hosting the event in the Kingdom, the final decision will depend on how the situation develops and whether travel and operational arrangements remain viable.
WrestleMania 43 and WWE’s uncertain future in Saudi Arabia
Crown Jewel is not the only major event connected to the Kingdom. WrestleMania 43 is scheduled to take place in Riyadh in 2027, marking the first time the company’s flagship event is planned outside North America. The show is part of the existing partnership between WWE and Saudi Arabia, which began in 2018.
However, reporter Blake Avignon suggests that WWE and TKO are not engaged in meaningful discussions to extend their Riyadh Season relationship beyond the current commitments. According to the report, executives are focused on completing existing agreements and collecting outstanding site-fee payments before considering further deals.
The report does not mean WWE has officially decided to leave Saudi Arabia. Rather, it suggests that the company may be holding back from making additional long-term commitments amid the political and logistical uncertainty. TKO also retains business interests in the region through Zuffa Boxing.
For now, Crown Jewel remains on the November 7 schedule, while WrestleMania 43 is still planned for 2027. Whether WWE continues expanding its Saudi partnership beyond those commitments remains uncertain.
