Riyadh looks certain as host city for Crown Jewel 2026
The future of Crown Jewel 2026 still looks uncertain due to security issues in Saudi Arabia. The US government has advised that all non-essential diplomats and their families should evacuate from the country because of increased tension in the region. Nevertheless, the construction work at the intended venue seems to continue.
Moreover, there is no news from the Stamford-based promotion regarding changing the venue or postponing the show. In fact, reports have reiterated that the event is still expected to take place in Saudi Arabia despite several WWE staff members and talent being unhappy with the situation.

Construction continues as WWE remains prepared to proceed with Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia
Recently leaked video footage by a local fan on social media seems to show ongoing construction work at the venue for Crown Jewel in Riyadh. There have also been sightings of promotional material for the event in the region.
The video shows construction underway for the crowd stands, while work around the ring is also beginning, including the installation of lighting, the entrance ramp, and other event setups.
Crown Jewel is set to take place on November 7 in Riyadh Season Stadium, located in the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD). The event will be part of the continuous collaboration between the Stamford-based promotion and Saudi Arabia, which has hosted various large-scale wrestling events since the two started working together in 2018. The Kingdom is scheduled to host WrestleMania 43 in 2027.
Uncertainty arose after the United States Embassy in Saudi Arabia issued a security alert. The US State Department had ordered the departure of all non-emergency staff members and their families due to attacks carried out by Iranian-backed Houthi militants. The attack targeted various civilian airports and critical infrastructure in the kingdom.
Despite these developments, authorities have not officially postponed or relocated the PLE. TKO CEO Ari Emanuel recently stated that the event remained scheduled as planned, while emphasising that the situation was being monitored daily.
Matches announced for WWE Crown Jewel 2026 so far
However, while the physical structure of the event gets most of the attention, its creative side has also gotten much appreciation. Three matches for the PLE have already been confirmed by now, and all of them consist of a Champion vs Champion scenario.
Therefore, the current World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns will face off against the Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn in the men’s division, and Liv Morgan will clash with Chelsea Green in another Champion vs Champion match, thus highlighting the impressive ladies’ division of the Stamford-based promotion.
Regarding other matches, the match between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton is expected to be a Last Man Standing affair, as their rivalry will reach its peak at last. Such a stipulation guarantees a brutal physical match, with victory achieved only through a ten-count defeat of an opponent.
By now, the mega PLE is scheduled to take place as originally planned on November 7 in Riyadh. With the construction process taking place and the match announcement being made, it appears as though everything is proceeding on schedule, although the final decision rests on the current situation with regard to the region’s safety and traveling there.
Has WWE changed the venue for Crown Jewel 2026?
No. As of October 26, WWE still plans to hold Crown Jewel at Riyadh Season Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 7.
Why is Crown Jewel’s venue status uncertain?
The US Embassy has issued fresh security warnings concerning attacks on Saudi airports and critical infrastructure, possible escalation, and travel disruptions. US authorities have also ordered non-emergency government employees and their families to leave Saudi Arabia. These developments have raised questions about travel and event safety, but no official venue change has been announced.
