WWE will be taping some upcoming episodes amid the holiday season!
WWE is gearing up for an unusually busy stretch, as the company will hold three full sets of double tapings next week across RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. The first set takes place on Monday, December 15, at the GIANT Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, where both RAW and SmackDown will be filmed beginning at 6 PM.
Two days later, on Wednesday, December 17, NXT will conduct its own double taping from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The black-and-gold brand will record the December 23 and December 30 episodes back-to-back, ensuring its year-end programming is locked in ahead of the holidays.
The final set of double tapings arrives on Friday, December 19, as WWE heads to the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Much like in Hershey, this event will also feature both a SmackDown and RAW episode taped on the same night, giving fans an extended evening of action and storyline developments.
Why is WWE consolidating tapings?
Multi-show tapings typically occur when WWE adjusts its travel logistics or restructures its production schedule near the holidays.
With several talent members already appearing across multiple brands and crews operating under year-end demands, combining RAW and SmackDown tapings allows the company to maintain broadcast consistency while lightening the live-event load.
This strategy not only supports the performers and production teams but also ensures that both weekly programs air without any disruption.
Holiday weeks often require extended pre-taped content, and by doubling up, WWE can secure timely episodes without the usual cross-country travel strain.

What can fans expect at the double tapings?
For fans heading to Hershey or Grand Rapids, the earlier start time translates into a longer, action-packed night.
Although WWE has not yet announced match lineups or featured segments for these specific tapings, dual-brand events traditionally offer a stacked card.
Attendees can expect appearances from top stars, storyline progression across both shows, and additional bouts that may be held exclusively for future broadcasts.
These extended nights also present opportunities for surprise matchups or cross-brand interactions, something WWE often leans into during holiday tapings.
With 2025 programming nearing its final stretch, the company aims to provide fans with a memorable, value-packed live experience while keeping its weekly output running smoothly.
Why is WWE double-taping RAW and SmackDown?
To accommodate the holiday schedule, reduce travel demands, and ensure uninterrupted weekly programming heading into the end of the year.
When will the double tapings take place?
On Monday in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and again on Friday, December 29, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, both beginning at 6 PM EST.
