Blake Monroe signed her NXT contract on the June 17 episode.

Mariah May, known among WWE fans as Blake Monroe, made her promotional debut in NXT earlier this month after her AEW exit. She officially signed her NXT contract on the June 17 episode, marking a new chapter for the former AEW Women’s World Champion.

Monroe’s arrival has created a lot of buzz not just among fans but also among insiders, and a WWE Hall of Famer has showered praise on the former AEW star, predicting her future in the Stamford-based promotion.

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley had high praise for Monroe, stating that she caught his eye with the body of work she had in “another company,” referencing her run as Mariah May in AEW.

“She did a phenomenal job and maxed out her potential there. I don’t think Blake Monroe could have gotten better at where she was, I don’t think there was enough talent that was better than her for her to work up to.

Bubba Ray also noted that he used the term “sports entertainer” instead of “pro wrestler” because she has recently been more of a sports entertainer. He emphasized that WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment.

I don’t know if there was enough minds that could have worked with Blake Monroe to have her be the sports entertainer she could be. I didn’t use the word pro wrestler I used sports entertainer because when you look at Blake Monroe’s body of work the last couple of years its more sports entertainer than pro wrestler to me and at the end of the day it’s world wrestling entertainment.”

Dudley also stated that Monroe joining NXT is a smart move, adding that she’ll thrive under Shawn Michaels’s wing. He also predicted that the former AEW Champion will eventually become a massive star in the WWE.

“So, I think Blake Monroe coming into NXT was a very smart move on her behalf, working with all this new talent I believe working with Shawn Michaels and working with all the talented creative people he has under him and the producers, Blake is truly going to shine in the system. And I think she will go on and be a big star in the WWE.”

Fatal Influence attacked Blake Monroe during her contract signing

As mentioned, Monroe signed her WWE contract during the June 17 episode of WWE NXT. However, the celebration soon turned into chaos as Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley, Jazmyn Nyx & Jacy Jayne) crashed the signing.

Right after she signed the contract, NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, along with Henley and Nyx, came out calling out General Manager Ava for “kissing the newbie’s a**”, before reminding that Fatal Influence has been running the women’s division all year, despite any appreciation or celebration

Monroe fires back, calling them insecure, which led to Jayne stating that Monroe is nothing more than another new flavor of the month. Soon, chaos broke out as Monroe landed a vicious elbow on Jayne, leading Henley and Nyx to retaliate. Twhe brawl ended with Fatal Influence putting Monroe through the table.
