WWE: New member to join The Rock & John Cena? Exploring the possibilities

Rejecting The Rock’s offer turned out to be fatal for the Undisputed WWE Champion

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made his electrifying return on the 02/21 episode of Friday Night SmackDown and made a lucrative offer to the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Johnson gave him time to think about the offer until the Elimination Chamber PLE.

After John Cena won the men’s Chamber match, Cody Rhodes appeared and congratulated the 16-time World Champion. However, the mood shifted as The Rock’s music hit and he entered the ring accompanied by Travis Scott.

The Rock once again demanded that Cody embrace him as a brother and champion. If not, he warned, “The Dream dies again.” Cody’s response? A firm no. He declared that his soul belonged to the ring and the WWE Universe, then looked The Rock in the eye and told him, “Hey Rock, go f*** yourself!” The crowd erupted, and even John Cena seemed to approve at least for a moment.

What came next has the pro wrestling in shambles even after two days of the PLE, while Cena embrace Cody, Johnson made a slit throat gesture following which the expression on Cena’s face changed and out of nowhere he landed a brutal low blow on the Champion, what followed was a brutal and bloody beatdown of Rhodes by Cena as Johnson and Scott joined in the beatdown.

The Rock might have another surprise up his sleeve after Elimination Chamber PLE

While many fans were so stunned at the moment with John Cena turning heel that they didn’t notice a potential subtle hint by Johnson. Many fans and pundits later pointed out that Johnson, while doing the cut throat gesture, held up two fingers.

The gesture was very similar to the one he did at the Bad Blood 2024 PLE, where Johnson made his return after the main event and stared down Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, making that same cut throat gesture and leaving without saying anything, the only difference was that he was holding up three fingers.

Many fans believe that Johnson only holding up two fingers instead of three might be a subtle hint that there is a third member in their alliance. If this is true, then Johnson might have another big surprise up his sleeve and his recruitment drive is still in progress.

Who might be the third member? The problem with power is everybody wants it, and there are a plethora of superstars that might align with The Rock to get preferential treatment and further their careers in the WWE.

From Jey Uso to CM Punk to even Drew McIntyre, there are multiple stars that can potentially join the alliance. Whoever might be the third member, one thing is for sure the fans are in for multiple jaw-dropping moments at WrestleMania 41.
