The road to WrestleMania has kicked off with the Royal Rumble PLE and the next stop on the road is the Elimination Chamber PLE and fans have started speculating about the matches and appearances.

In today’s edition of the rumor roundup, we cover the latest rumors and news circulating among fans on social media, including Randy Orton’s WrestleMania 41 plans, WWE Evolve pre-tapings, AEW stars Miro and Malakai Black’s WWE return, Gunther European live event matches and more.

Randy Orton’s WrestleMania 41 plans

According to a recent report from WRKD Wrestling, Randy Orton will be back in time for WrestleMania 41 and is planned to battle Kevin Owens at the grandest stage.

‘The Viper’ Randy Orton has been out of action since November 2024 when he was attacked and left injured by his former friend Kevin Owens, who landed the infamous package piledriver causing severe injury to Orton.

Owens recently issued a challenge via his X handle to Sami Zayn for a clash at the upcoming Elimination Chamber 2025 PLE which is set to take place in the two former friends’ home country Canada.

WWE Evolve pre-tapings

WWE recently announced the launch of a new show called, Evolve which is set to premiere on March 5, exclusively on Tubi, with new episodes dropping each week on Wednesdays. According to the WWE the show “will showcase in-ring action featuring rising WWE prospects as they wrestle with the dream of making it to NXT and, perhaps, one day to SmackDown and Raw.”

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, the new show has reportedly “taped about seven weeks worth of shows at the Performance Center” and “they don’t want any info out on the shows.” Meanwhile, PW Insider mentions that the WWE Evolve Championship has been established and will premiere at the upcoming tapings on February 21.

AEW stars Miro and Malakai Black’s WWE return

AEW stars Miro and Malakai Black better known by the WWE fandom as Rusev and Aleister Black were removed from the company’s (AEW) official roster page recently confirming their exit from the company.

Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter now reports that both Miro and Malakai Black are expected to return to WWE soon. Meltzer also mentioned that creative plans for both wrestlers have already been discussed.

Gunther European live event matches

World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is set to defend the title at the grandest stage in April against the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble winner Jey Uso after the latter chose the Heavyweight champion for WrestleMania.

However, before the Mania PLE, the promotion will head out for a European tour which comprises of 11 cities and 12 dates. Ahead of the tour, WWE Deutschland via their X handle revealed the tour’s marquee event which features the champion, Gunther.

The Ring General is set to face Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins in a steel cage match at WWE’s live events in Dortmund and Hannover, Germany which are scheduled for March 15 and 16, respectively.

Gunther is set to step into the steel cage once again on March 29 to battle ‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk in his hometown of Vienna, Austria as part of the live tour.

Oba Femi & Giulia favorites to win at NXT Vengeance Day 2025

NXT Champion Oba Femi is set to defend the title against Grayson Waller and Austin Theory in a triple-threat match while Giulia is set to defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Bayley, Roxanne Perez, and Cora Jade in a Fatal Four-Way Match at the 2025 edition of the Vengeance Day PLE.

According to BetOnline, ahead of the PLE which is scheduled for Saturday, February 15 from the CareFirst Arena, Washington, DC, both the champions are heavily favored to retain their titles at the PLE.

The Undertaker on CM Punk & Randy Orton’s retirement

In a recent conversation with CBS Sports, WWE legend The Undertaker revealed that, according to him, CM Punk and Randy Orton both deserve a farewell tour similar to John Cena’s.

“I would say [CM] Punk is probably one. If Randy [Orton] wraps it up, Randy definitely deserves that. He’s had a pretty storied career. I would like to see guys like that get their flowers and say their goodbyes.” The Understaker stated.

Apart from Punk and Orton, The Undertaker also named Paul Heyman and stated that the three stars deserve the same Cena-esque retirement rollout.

“I don’t know how long [Paul] Heyman plans to hang around but I think he’s enough for enough talent that he should be in there.“

WWE plans for Ricky Starks

AEW star Ricky Starks made a surprise debut on the February 11 episode of NXT where he made his promotional debut, appearing in the crowd just one day after news of his departure from AEW was announced.

Following his debut, Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed that the Stamford-based promotion had plans for Starks to make his NXT debut at a major event later this year.

“Even before his release, WWE had plans for Starks to debut in NXT at a major event later this year, but sped up the process as soon as he was available.”
