The transfer window was mentioned during WWE SmackDown

Although, WWE NXT is the developmental brand of the WWE the talents that it has been producing are main roster-level talents that never fail to deliver. Today we take a look at five such NXT stars who can make the transition to the main roster during the transfer window.

The 12/06 episode of Friday Night SmackDown aired live from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During the show, the term “Transfer Window” was mentioned several times, leaving fans puzzled about its meaning and impact on the roster.

Michael Cole from the commentary booth shared details on the transfer window, revealing that all three brands are collaborating to revamp the Raw, SmackDown and NXT rosters.

He emphasized that the upcoming transfer would significantly shake things up “in a major way” ahead of the Red brand‘s move to Netflix. The development brand of the promotion has some stars that can shine under the bright lights of the main roster let us look at five such stars.

5. Ethan Page

Ethan Page can easily be considered the fastest-rising superstar in NXT history. Making his debut in the middle of 2024, Page only took a few months to insert himself into the World title picture and even capture the WWE NXT Championship at NXT Heatwave.

Page can repeat the same success in the main roster as his charisma and on-mic skills paired with his wrestling skills make him a perfect candidate. Page is currently scheduled for the men’s for the Iron Survivor Challenge at WWE NXT Deadline. The winner would earn a shot at the NXT Championship.

4. Roxxane Perez

Roxanne Perez had one of the most successful years in WWE NXT history this year. Capturing the NXT Women’s title at WWE NXT Stand and Deliver for the second time, The Prodigy began her dominant run as the titleholder, putting down stars like Lola Vice, Giulia, Jaida Parker, and Jordynne Grace.

Despite her young age and a short pro wrestling career, Perez has made a name for herself winning titles in two different promotions. Roxxane ruthlessness and her athleticism make her the perfect contender for the transfer window.

Perez can be matched up with stars like Zelina Vega, Canice LeRae, Dakota Kai, and Ivy Nile. These potential matchups will not only help her develop as a professional but also give her an opportunity to showcase her talent on the main roster.

3. Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson

The pairing of Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson had an impressive run in WWE NXT this year, resulting in several appearances and matches for the Meta-Four members on the main roster.

Additionally, they made history as the only NXT stars to compete at a main roster Premium Live Event, WWE Crown Jewel, for the Women’s Tag Team Championships in 2024. The PLE experience and their clashes with the WWE Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill allowed them to showcase their ability.

Apart from their appearance, Lash Legend also replaced an injured Jade Cargill in the Women’s US title tournament. Legend faced Michin and Piper Niven. Although she didn’t win in the triple threat match she showcased her ability to hang with the talents on the main roster.

2. Tony D’Angelo

The Don of NXT, Tony D’Angelo, had his share of ups and downs in 2024. Leading the charge of his D’Angelo Family, Tony managed to win the NXT Heritage Cup Championship and also dethroned the dominant Oba Femi to win his first singles title, the WWE NXT North American Championship.

D’Angelo has the style and charisma to shine on the main roster against Titans of pro wrestling. D’Angelo’s wrestling style is a unique blend of power and agility coupled with multiple titles in the NXT making him one of the top stars from the developmental brand.

Similar to the IC Champion Bron Breakker, Tony can quickly become a fan-favorite brawler if given the chance on the main roster during the transfer window.

1. Trick Williams

One of the top stars from the developmental brand and the current NXT Champion Trick Williams should be among the top contenders for the promotion during the transfer window.

Williams has solidified his status as one of the top stars on the NXT roster this year. Early on, he defeated the formidable Ilja Dragunov to win his first NXT Championship and successfully defended it against several challengers.

Although he lost the title at NXT Heatwave, Williams quickly rebounded and claimed his second NXT Championship. Williams is now scheduled to defend his title against Ridge Holland at NXT Deadline on December 7.
