Truth made his return during the main event of Money in the Bank 2025!
The pro-wrestling erupted when it was revealed that beloved veteran R-Truth had been unexpectedly released from the WWE. What followed was fans during the live broadcast as well on social media, rallied for his return chanting “WE WANT TRUTH” repeatedly since his departure.
The same chants were heard during the 2025 edition of Money in the Bank. However, fans were in for a surprise as a masked man in a hoodie appeared and attacked John Cena during the main event. The man then removed his mask to reveal himself.
Fans at the Intuit Dome erupted at the sight of Truth’s return, it also surprised many as to what really transpired behind the scenes. While Truth’s son shut down the claim by WWE CCO Triple H that it was all a “work”, posting “no cap” on his IG Story, reports later clarified what transpired behind the scenes.
According to Fightful Select, Truth avoided the promotion’s attempt to contact him until WWE President Nick Khan himself stepped in to work out a new agreement with the veteran. No information has been shared regarding the contract’s length or whether Triple H was involved.
It’s also unclear who initially decided against bringing R-Truth back or what led to the change in direction. PWInsider reported that Truth is listed internally under the name ‘Ron Killings’, his real name, and the decision to bring him back was made within the past 72 hours.
R-Truth asked to have his name changed as part of his new deal
As per BodySlam.net, R-Truth signed a new deal that “isn’t a normal active working talent deal, but it gives him the opportunity for one true final run.” Wrestling Observer Radio adds that Truth asked to have his name changed to Ron Killings as part of his new deal, allowing him to retain and capitalize on the name’s value once his time with WWE comes to an end.
Following his shocking return in the main event, fans started theorizing about his return, with one user on X (Twitter) suggesting the WWE Universe had been “worked” by Truth and the WWE. However, Truth himself responded directly to the post, writing, “No work”.
Truth also lauded fans while responding to a post on X (Twitter), expressing his love and thanking the fans for the “We Want Truth” movement.
“🙌🏾🔥💪🏾🙏🏾 No🧢 #WeWantTruth was seen, heard, felt and understood… Believe me when I say this, I Love EVERYONE of yall to death🥲 We made history together”
It will be interesting to see what R-Truth does following his return at Money in the Bank. The attack on Cena will surely push their storyline forward, but whatever happens, one thing is clear, the WWE Universe made their voices heard, and the veteran is back to deliver more memorable moments.
